Imperfect action is any action that moves you in the direction of the behaviours, habits, or goals that matter to you.
It’s not about doing the thing perfectly. Sometimes it’s not even about accomplishing the thing you originally set out to do. It’s simply about taking one step, no matter how small, slow, or sloppy.
When it comes to exercise, maybe that’s a workout session. Maybe it’s five minutes of stretching while the kettle boils. Maybe it’s putting your gym clothes on and driving to the gym, even if you only stay for twenty minutes. Maybe it’s choosing to walk around the block instead of scrolling.
None of those actions are perfect, but every single one reinforces the identity of someone who values movement and cares for themself.
So often when we are thinking about becoming more active, we put too much emphasis on motivation, when what we really need is momentum.
And only motion builds momentum.
Shame rarely does.
Movement doesn’t have to be all or nothing. It doesn’t have to be optimized. It doesn’t have to be miserable. And perhaps most importantly, progress doesn’t happen in a straight line.
Your progress isn’t measured by whether you missed a week, a month, or even a season. It’s measured by your willingness to begin again.

A little look inside the Self Care Community 🧡
One of the prompts we explored was Inner Dialogue Awareness, which is really just a gentle invitation to notice how you speak to yourself.
Not to immediately fix it.
Not to judge yourself for it.
Just to notice.
Because sometimes negative self-talk becomes so familiar that we don’t even realize it is there.
The “I’m so behind.”
The “why can’t I just do the thing?”
The “I always mess this up.”
And when those thoughts show up, the goal is not to force yourself into fake positivity. It is to make the thought a little more neutral, a little more supportive, and a little less mean.
Inside the Self Care Community, we explore small practices like this for movement, rest, reflection, connection, and care that actually fits real life.
It is free to join, and you can participate as much or as little as you’d like.

Being full and feeling satisfied are not always the same thing.
Fullness is the physical sensation of having food in your stomach.
Satisfaction asks a different question:
❓ Did it meet my nutritional needs?
❓ Did it meet my emotional needs?
❓ Did I have enough time to eat?
❓ Did I enjoy it?
❓ Did I allow myself access to the foods I actually wanted?
Even when your stomach is full, your body may continue to signal hunger if other aspects of the eating experience are not satisfied.
And while it is safe and normal to eat past comfortable fullness on occasion, if you’re doing so regularly and it’s causing physical discomfort or stress, instead of judgmental, try getting curious.
What would make your eating experience more satisfying?

I am so excited to be returning to Wild Roses Festival this year. 🧡
I’ll be leading Release: A Somatic Mobility Session, a 60-minute movement session designed to help you release physical and emotional tension through a blend of corrective exercise, somatic movement, mindfulness, and music.
This session is really a reflection of so much of what I believe about movement and self care.
There is no single perfect tool.
No one right way to heal.
No one version of wellness that works for every body, every season, or every lived experience.
For me, movement has been many things over the years. Dance, bodybuilding, yoga, group fitness, personal training, martial arts, somatics, and more. Some practices have helped me feel strong. Some have helped me feel soft. Some have supported me through grief, anxiety, trauma, healing, and the messy middle of being human.
This session brings some of those pieces together in a way that is playful, accessible, and hopefully a little liberating.
Think yoga meets group fitness meets dance party.
We’ll move in ways that support joint mobility, strength, stability, body awareness, and emotional release. Participants can engage from seated, standing, or lying down positions, and as always, you are invited to meet your body where it is.
My hope is that you leave feeling a little lighter, a little freer, and a little more connected to yourself.
If you’ll be at Wild Roses Festival this year, I would love to see you there!

One of the hardest parts of learning to eat more mindfully is trusting that your body is allowed to ask for food.
Especially when diet culture has spent years teaching us to question every hunger cue, delay every craving, and treat eating like something we need to justify.
But hunger is not a test of willpower. It’s information.
If your body is asking for food, the answer probably isn’t water, gum, coffee, or waiting until you’re “allowed” to eat. It’s food!
Rebuilding that connection can take time, especially if you’ve spent years trying to control, shrink, or disconnect from your body.
So let this be a gentle reminder:
💚 You are allowed to eat when you’re hungry.
💚 You are allowed to trust your body.
💚 You are allowed to nourish yourself without earning it first.
