First pick of the season! If all goes well we are going to have a ton of raspberries. We don’t share these lol.

This is pure love. I have never seen a cat love another cat so much. From the moment we got Loki, he has been obsessed with his much older brother Thor. Right now he is just staring at Thor while he sleeps. He often sleeps right on top of him or buries his face in Thor’s body. If Thor walks into a room and Loki sees him, he goes running over to him and gives him the biggest head butt. If we lock Thor in our bedroom, Loki cries at the door. If Loki can’t see Thor, we can hear him wandering the house calling to him. Thor is very old. I don’t know what Loki is going to do when he is gone.

More summer flowers in bloom!! It’s always sad to see the spring flowers die but then this happens soon after.

Summer flowers are in bloom!!

Cut a bouquet today for a friend. This is my first year using Sweet William Dianthus for cut flowers. They are biennial so they flower in their second year. Apparently they will self seed though. Eventually I should have them every year. I am really loving them. They are kind of a traditional, antique looking, flower. I have so many color variations in the pink/purple/white/ and almost red colors. They last a long time in the vase. At lease a week. I’ll definitely grow them again.

First bouquet of the season. It’s so late this year. Peonies, lady’s mantle, bachelor buttons, sweet William dianthus, coral bells. So pretty.

The only things in my garden that are liking this weather are the greens and radishes. I wish I would have planted more spinach and radishes. I usually only do a spring planting of them because then the ground gets too warm. Also, I’m happy I have my lettuce and spinach in my raised beds because I’m sure there will be a ton of slugs very soon!! Time to buy some Near Beer and set up traps!
