I made this sauce today. Every single thing in these jars is from my garden! Yum!

Got a nice big bowl of blueberries from the garden today. 390g/13.8 oz. They are insanely delicious.

I cut some flowers today with a special person in mind. Elaine Hrycenko was my dad’s cousin and one of my art teachers. She always gave me the best comments on my home made cards, flower arrangements and craft projects. We would talk about gardening on FB. I loved the little garden she created on her balcony in Saskatoon. I still don’t think of myself as artistic. I think of myself as crafty. I can see a few ideas and come up with my own take on them but I don’t really come up with stuff totally on my own. She made me feel like I was good at the projects I was doing though. I appreciated her comments and encouragement. I also loved the handwritten letters and cards she sent me. I will miss those.
This week her friends and family are gathering in Sask to celebrate her life. I can’t be there so I thought I would cut and design some bouquets with her mind.

Cows! I love cows. Here are a couple of old photos of me with cows. In the second one, I am on the cow. It was likely Polly. She was a good girl. My grandma used to name all of her cows. Haha.

Some mandala dot art rocks I have done recently. Trying to find some time to calm down and relax. It’s been a crazy summer.

I have been following a group on FB about small scale cut flower gardening. I have been leaning some new tips about how to make cut flowers last longer. I cut these yesterday morning and put them in the basement for the day in a cool room. I arranged them this morning. I will see if they last longer with the tips I have added to my routine. Unfortunately I’m in a bit of a hurry this morning (not the mindset I like when arranging flowers), so I struggle with my glads. I should have ran out to my garden and grabbed some more filler plants for that arrangement for the space between the lower ones and the tall glads, but I don’t have time. I might add to it later today when I get home from volunteering at Bingo. Anyway, enjoy the bright colors of the summer season. Flowers included are yarrow, zinnia, snap dragons, cerinthe, gladiolus and statice.
