We took a little summer break… but don’t worry, we weren’t gone forever. 😉
The sticks are coming out.
The skates are getting sharpened.
The parents are pretending they’re emotionally prepared. 😂
And after 40 YEARS (yes, it’s our 40th anniversary this year!) of Millwoods Hockey, we’re pretty sure this season is going to be a good one.

Tryouts are just around the corner.

And hockey season is officially creeping up on us.

# # # 🙋‍♀️ BUT HERE’S THE BIG ONE… WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Millwoods Hockey doesn’t run on hockey sticks and pucks alone — it takes an army of awesome volunteers!💙

Whether you have 30 minutes, an hour, or can help with the whole event, we’d love to have you involved!

We need people to help with things like:
🌭BBQ & food
🥤 Serving drinks
🎪 Helping with activities
🏃 Keeping the obstacle course moving
🎨 Helping at stations
🧹 Set-up & clean-up
👋 Greeting families
…and basically whatever needs doing!

And don’t worry, no special skills required.😂
If you can smile, lend a hand and survive a room full of hockey kids, YOU QUALIFY.🫡

Volunteering is also a great way to meet other hockey families, get involved with the association and be part of what makes Millwoods Hockey such an awesome community. It also counts towards your association volunteer commitment! 💙

So come hang out, meet some new faces, cheer on the kids, eat some questionable amounts of BBQ food… and help us kick off another great season together!

🏒 Day 2 of our U9 Tier 1 Prep Camp is in the books!

Coach Mike was back on the ice today, keeping the drills moving, encouraging the players, and making sure everyone brought their best effort. If there was a race to every loose puck, you can bet Coach Mike was making sure no one took a shift off! 😄

The passes are getting crisper, the compete level is climbing, and the confidence is growing with every skate. It’s been awesome watching this group push themselves while still having a ton of fun.

These young Bruins are putting in the work now to build a strong foundation for the season ahead. The future is looking bright, and Coach Mike is helping lead the way—one drill, one laugh, and one hard-earned stride at a time. 💙🐻

Keep working hard, keep having fun, and we’ll see you back on the ice!

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of two of our biggest Bruins fans.

Anyone who knows the Stecyk family Jeremy, Lindsay, Connor, and Mason, knows just how deeply Lindsay’s parents Don and Donna are connected to Millwoods Hockey. Don and Donna were a constant presence at games, practices, fundraisers, and every event where their grandkids were playing. They weren’t just there to support Connor and Mason, they cheered for every Bruin as if they were their own.

Their smiles, encouragement, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by our entire hockey community. The Bruins stands will feel a little emptier without them, but their spirit will always be with us at the rink.

At your next game, cheer a little louder in their honour. It’s exactly what they would have wanted.
