If you join EBTC now, you could enjoy a lovely 60 km cycle on rolling paved country roads with us on Thursday July 16! Red Deer to/from Innisfail along the C and E Trail. Lunch at the Coffee Cottage - yum! What are you waiting for? Go to: www.bikeclub.ca

What's better than a Gran Fondo? A Gran Fondue, of course! EBTC's first Gran Fondue had close to 70 members riding three different distances (35, 50, or 95 km). That was followed by a tasty lunch that included the piece de resistance - chocolate fondue!

Checking out St. Albert during Short N Sweet ride on Saturday morning!

The original route was a NO GO - too many pathways along the river were under water. So we pivoted and enjoyed an urban ride with some ravine pathways to keep us on our toes! We also caught the train as it was crossing the trestle bridge!

C&E trail day 1 started relatively dry and smiley. Then the dry part ended. Most of the group got as far as Blackfalds, had coffee, warmed up and decided to head back to Lacombe.
Day 2 looked somewhat farther from perfect than day 1. A certain number of us bailed before the ride.

The Friday roads sure were quiet today, especially devoid of cyclists. Could it be the weather?
The forecast said risk of showers but we only had one - that started just before we headed out and ended about the time we got to our coffee spot. However, we had a good ride, a good chat over coffee (inside at Spruce Park Ranch for a change) and even saw a big chunk of blue sky after the ride as we walked around the Clifford E Lee nature sanctuary.

We were up to 72 km today as we work toward the 100 km Tour de l'Alberta on July 12.
Skies couldn't be bluer, countryside as spring green as it gets, and a glass of mead at the end. There's still time to sign up for our favourite playground next week.

The one and only Al & Darren’s Bakery Ride! Yes, we really did ride to some bakeries (busy eating, forgot to take pics), but we also had some scenic stops, like here at Beaumaris Lake in the city’s north end.
