Former Grasshopper FC of Switzerland Sporting Director—Seyi Olofinjana is reportedly favored by the NSC to hold a key role in the glass house ahead of the upcoming elections.

Seyi, amongst several other degrees holds a Masters of Sport Directorship Program at the Manchester Metropolitan University. His administrative sojourn has also seen him hold vital roles as Head of Scouting for Premier League giant, Chelsea Football Club.

While others that aren't Eagles soar, where are the 'REAL' Eagles — The Super Eagles? 🦅

Yan Diomande (🇨🇮), this summer, completed a club-record £120m move to Real Madrid.

Oscar Naasei (🇬🇭) remains firmly on Los Blancos' radar, close to completion. Big clubs, big money, big stages.

Meanwhile, Nigerian players are still making comparatively lightweight moves this window. No Bernabéu headlines, No EPL top 4 moves, no marquee unveilings — just "quiet transfers" while other African talents dominate Europe's biggest stage.

Talent isn't the issue. Where's the pathway? 🤔

The federal government has given the National Sports Commission (NSC) the green light to intervene.

The NSC now plans to set up a caretaker committee that will temporarily run the affairs of Nigerian football. The committee's main task will be a complete overhaul of both the NFF Congress and its administrative secretariat.

Adding another layer to the crisis is a looming clash with FIFA. The outgoing NFF board — from what I'm able to scoop: 9 out of 13 members resigned, NOT the entire board — has reportedly asked FIFA to step in urgently, arguing that the government's plan to impose an interim committee amounts to "undue government interference" — a move that could expose Nigeria to a FIFA suspension.

Should FIFA reject the government's proposed committee, officials may have no choice but to fall back on an internal caretaker arrangement, drawn from the NFF Congress members who haven't resigned.

Interesting days ahead 🤔

Nwabali ain't going down without a fight. Featured in Chippa Utd's 1-1 draw vs Siwelele.

Brilliant long range save + great ball distribution that by no small means facilitated to the goal.

Commentator says "easy save" 🤡

Chelle's sensational discovery — Benjamin Fredrick, signs new 4-year deal as he gets promoted to Brentford's first team ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

EPL appearance loading for the prodigiously talented, versatile defender whom I also believe would do an equally great job in the midfield

All the best Captain Fredrick!

My exact same thoughts — Thank you 👏🏿

Had no idea football has now become a 100% non-contact sport.

Forget about the Messi-Cristiano bitterness for a sec. If in a "physically-demanding", "contact-sport" as football, a referee justifies his decision to disallow a goal for an incident as flimsy as this, then the game is slowly slipping out of our hands.

This particular "so-called foul" happened in exactly the same spot back in USA 94 — Nigeria vs Italy — Eguavoen vs Zola. Eguavoen's challenge was way more aggressive than this, referee had no reason to stop the game. Instead, booked Zola for retaliation.

Yes, a goal can be rightfully disallowed if the build-up hinges on a 'valid foul', true! However, not this one. A few years ago, this Argentine comic would be carded for simulation, and trying too hard to mislead the ref.

Football has gone soft, officials compromised, and fans losing their minds out of sheer bitterness ... sad!

Everywhere don calm! 😃

I really hope Sad-Africa won't make it to the Quarter Finals beating Canada today.

Against Canada, is a very favorable draw and golden opportunity to equal Nigeria's feat at the FIFA World Cup — The Round of 16.

Are South Africa capable of beating Canada? Oh Yes, 100%. I fervently hope they don't.

Scoreline still 0-0. Tani Oluwaseyi — Do this for the Green-White-Green, abeg 🙌🏼

Devastated to see Cote d'Ivoire bottle what seemed like a draw vs Germany, at the very least.

Germany's winner by Deniz Undav felt like a Roberto Baggio goal vs Nigeria at the USA 94 — gutted to see that sneak in!

Lessons for African teams? Discipline — mental & tactical, still remains an issue. For Cote d'Ivoire in this particular game, it was about the latter as they were fearless and stood toe-to-toe against the Germans — zero inferiority complex, zero fear.

I really wish them well — all African teams except one 😉
