Victoria Falls World Challenge Pigeon Race

Today’s end of the Victoria Falls WCPR auction was a great success! The most expensive pigeon was the Super Ace winner of Martin Hetzel, sold for 39.500 EUR. The total of the 82 pigeons was 167.100 EUR, an average of +2.000 EUR/pigeon.

This is the best auction result of the last 3 years for VFWCPR. This result reflected the excellent racing season VFWCPR had at their new loft location in Bulawayo.

Enduro Race Prize Money

RACE REPORT ENDURO RACE

The ENDURO RACE from Nyamapanda 591 km, was liberated at 06.30 am on 24 June 2026. There was 10% cloud cover at liberation and a 6 km/hr headwind. The wind changed to a crosswind after 2 hours at 6-10 km/hr. The maximum daytime temperature was 24 degrees Celsius. The humidity was 60% down to 20%.

The first small group of pigeons arrived at 13.49 hrs with a velocity of 1346 m/min after 7 hrs 19 min of flight. The 20 prize positions valued at US$ 50 000 were filled in 21 minutes.

356 pigeons returned on the first day and when the race closed on the 2nd day, 772 pigeons had returned. 22% of the pigeons did not return in race time.
