Ruwa Volleyball Club Storms into Harare Premier League Super 6

Ruwa Volleyball Club has secured its place in the prestigious Harare Premier League Super 6 after finishing fourth in the first round of games. Unlike past campaigns where calculators were needed to determine qualification, this time Ruwa’s performance spoke for itself — earning a direct ticket to the next stage. The Super 6 is divided into two groups
Group A
Ruwa Volleyball Club, Black Mambas, Correctional Spikers
Group B
Uz Wolves, Black Rhinos, NABA
Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, making every match a high-stakes battle.
Ruwa opens their campaign with a tough clash against the stubborn Correctional Spikers on Saturday, 5 September at 11:30 AM at Mufakose Area A courts. The following day, they face Black Mambas on Sunday, 6 September at 1:30 PM.These fixtures will test Ruwa’s resilience, but the team enters with high morale and no injury concerns, a crucial advantage at this stage. After narrowly missing out on the Zimbabwe Premier League 2026, this Super 6 run offers Ruwa a golden opportunity to showcase their talent on a bigger stage. The squad is determined to prove that they belong among Zimbabwe’s volleyball elite.The atmosphere around the club is buzzing, with players and supporters alike eager to see Ruwa rise to the challenge.

From the group stages to the finals, both teams displayed flawless performances, never losing a single match. Your consistency and determination set you apart as true champions.
The Black Mambas boast seasoned and mature players whose composure and skill shone throughout the competition. As a uniformed services team, your discipline and teamwork clearly paid off, reflecting the values that define your identity both on and off the court.
As Ruwa Volleyball Club, we were honored to participate in the same tournament and witness such excellence firsthand. The Harare Volleyball Open Tournament 2026 delivered thrilling action, and Ruwa Volleyball Club emerged as one of the standout teams of the competition.
Ruwa stormed through the group stages, defeating every opponent with confidence and skill. Their flawless run showcased the team’s depth, discipline, and growing reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s most competitive volleyball sides.
In the semifinals, Ruwa faced the University of Zimbabwe (UZ). Despite a spirited performance, Ruwa fell short, losing 3–1 to the eventual finalists. However, the team bounced back in the bronze medal match, defeating Bindura University to secure third place on the podium.
The University of Zimbabwe advanced to the final but lost to ZRP Mambas, who clinched the championship with a 3–1 victory.
For Ruwa, the bronze medal is more than just consolation—it’s a sign of their rising trajectory. The future looks bright for the club, with players and supporters alike optimistic about what lies ahead.
Their immediate focus now shifts to the Ausha St. Collins Tournament in Marondera on 18 April 2026, where Ruwa will compete as defending champions. With momentum on their side, they’ll be aiming to retain their crown and further cement their status as one of Zimbabwe’s volleyball powerhouses.

Ruwa Volleyball Team delivered a flawless performance on the opening day of the Harare Volleyball Open. Drawn in Pool B alongside Bindura University, Chapungu, and Old Hararians, Ruwa showcased their strength and determination by winning all three matches convincingly:
Ruwa 2-0 Chapungu
Ruwa 2-0 Bindura University
Ruwa 2-0 Old Hararians
Their clean sweep secured them a place in the semi-finals, setting up a thrilling clash against defending champions, the University of Zimbabwe, on 12 April 2026. With both teams in top form, the semi-final is already being dubbed “the final before the final.
Ruwa’s youthful squad proved that they are a force to be reckoned with.
Russy Chitsanzara, Valentine Shumba, and Lovelage Sango – brought energy and precision, dominating both attack and defense.
Prince P.G.7 (Setter) – rediscovered his form, delivering block-splitting sets that dismantled opponents’ defenses.
Intelligent Lawrence Chasauka – displayed maturity and composure, guiding the team with smart plays.
Original Mangwiro enjoyed a field day, consistently punishing opponents with powerful spikes.
Tendai Tintoh stabilised the pass.
Takudzwa Chigume – impressed on his debut, showing confidence and skill beyond his years.
With momentum on their side, Ruwa now faces their biggest test against the University of Zimbabwe. The defending champions will not go down easily, but Ruwa’s spirited performance on day one has set the stage for an electrifying semi-final. Fans can expect a battle of skill, resilience, and determination.
