Eleven years ago, we welcomed the very first foal bred under the Harwin Arabians name.

She was not a Purebred Arabian, but a Part-bred carrying 87.5% Arabian blood. At the time, opportunities and bloodlines in Zimbabwe were limited, so we made the very best breeding decisions we could with what was available. Looking back, her pedigree seems almost secondary. What truly mattered was that she represented the beginning of a vision—a commitment that every generation should be better than the last, and that quality would always take precedence over quantity.

Since that day, Harwin Arabians has grown beyond anything we could have imagined. Our journey has taken us from that first foal to National Champions, international representation, and the privilege of playing a role in preserving and promoting the Arabian horse in Zimbabwe.

As another breeding season begins, and with great anticipation for this year’s foal crop, this photograph is a reminder that every successful breeding programme starts with a single foal and a dream.

Breeding is never simply a matter of pairing pedigrees. It requires patience, faith, hope, passion, and an unwavering dedication to the pursuit of excellence.

We recently had the privilege of visiting Simeon Stud in Sydney, Australia.

Owned by Marion Richmond, Simeon Stud has operated a straight Egyptian breeding program for the last 70-odd years and has been a major force in the industry globally. She has exported horses to over 20 different countries, and Simeon horses are sought after the world over.

Our day started with the presentation of the stud’s three chief sires, namely Simeon Shifran (Asfour x Simeon Shavit), Simeon Sahron (Imperial Madaar x Simeon Setavi), and Simeon Seifan (Simeon Shifran x CMMoussameh). All three stallions were impeccably presented and eager to show off their ethereal beauty. There is nothing quite like seeing a proud Arabian stallion displaying himself in all his glory.

Following that, we were presented with Simeon Shivah (Simeon Seifan x Simeon Seis), an extraordinary grey mare who was recently crowned the 2026 Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Gold Senior Female Champion of the Australasian leg of the tournament, and who left us breathless with her beauty!

We were then treated to a presentation of c**ts and fillies, who were turned out in the arena showcasing all their free-flowing movement and grace, followed by a viewing of the broodmare band before being treated to a fabulous lunch.

We would like to thank Marion and her team for their warm hospitality and for showing us their gorgeous horses.

This is what the Arabian horse does — it brings people together from all walks of life and all parts of the world! 🇿🇼🇦🇺

As the seasons slowly turn and Zimbabwe ventures closer to winter, we warmly welcome the arrival of our last foal of the 2025/2026 breeding season.

Skai Sodashi (EKS Alihandro/ Sidi Scorpio) x Shania Shelina (Tehama Ali/ Tehama Na Sidaqa)

This promising c**t houses a pedigree consisting of a beautiful blend of Russian/ Egyptian/ Spanish bloodlines and is a maternal relative of the illustrious Zimbabwean born world champion mare, Tehama Ballalina (Tehama Na Sidaqa x JJ Shai Majestic Queen).

We have named him after the Emirate which became home to Ballalina and where we had the wonderful opportunity of meeting her last year.

We are delighted to welcome the elegant mare, Charlottenberg Clara (Shaykh Barrani x Chapmar Cleopatra (by Patrician B)) to our family.

Clara’s pedigree is a beautiful blend of Polish/ Russian/ Egyptian and Crabbet/ Old English bloodlines. She will be the first mare of Crabbet/ Old English breeding to join our breeding program in 10 years and is a special new addition to our broodmare band.

Clara is presently in foal to the sensation multi US champion, Delacroixx (RD Dynamo x HED Caramba) and will be resident in Nambia for the foreseeable future. Her foal will mark the first Harwin Arabians foal to be produced on Namibian soil.

Skai Sodashi x Charlottenberg Złota Bibi (Ascot DD)

Born in the early hours on the 28th of February, this beautiful filly signifies the arrival of the first Skai Sodashi (EKS Alihandro/ Sidi Scorpio) foals born here at Harwin Arabians.

Złota Bianka’s dam, Charlottenberg Złota Bibi is a direct import in utero from the famed Michalow State Stud in Poland. Złota Bibi was foaled in Nambia at Charlottenberg Arabians and joined us in 2024. Złota Bibi was declared the 2025 Zimbabwean National Champion Senior Mare and her Namibian resident dam, Złota Rola (by Laheeb), was declared the 2023 Southern African Champion mare.

This filly houses some of the finest showing greats in her pedigree in the Arabian Horse world and we very much look forward to watching her grow and mature.
