Arcadia Community Centre

Arcadia SDA church in collaboration with Arcadia Child Trust have launched a music program targeted at Arcadia/Braeside community children. The program is aimed at deepening the children's relationship with Christ through sacred song, teaching them how to serve and encourage others and working together as a family. They are currently learning to play piano and read music theory which has lots of benefits such as improving concentration and listening, instilling discipline and strengthening their memory. Learning to play the piano and reading music will also open up career opportunities for the children such as potential scholarships, teaching and performing.

The older children have taken their first music theory exams with the London College of Music and our hope and prayer is that all the children complete the full qualification.

The children have grown in so many ways since they started the program and we would like to extend their skills to other instruments specifically guitar and violin. We would also like to open up the program to more children but funding is our greatest limitation. We are therefore sincerely requesting for donations to take this program to another level and have a greater impact in the community.
