The Stories We Tell Ourselves - Pathfinders is a Simuka Wellness initiative grounded in the understanding that wellness and health are also shaped by the conversations we have with ourselves and with each other.

Tsungie took us through this conversation about the stories we tell ourselves.

The aim is to unwind with intention. Every Friday at Simuka Wellness Studios at 1800hrs.

Zimbabwe’s roads are rough. So is life. But your body is your vehicle.

Question is: are you maintaining it or driving it to breakdown?

If your body had a dashboard, what warning light would be flashing today?

Habit leads to virtue. Virtue shapes identity and, over time, forms character. The 4amclub is, for me, a foundation of elementary spiritual discipline- a daily practice rooted in intentional self-denial such as fasting, exercise, and charity, practices that are often uncomfortable but deeply formative.

In my personal journey, this has become a way of training the body and mind to govern vegetative appetites and impulses, rather than being governed by them. It is not a destination but a process and a journey of ups and downs - one that is only truly sustained through the grace of God.

For women in perimenopause and menopause- You are not imagining it. You are not falling apart. You are navigating one of
the most significant biological transitions of your life - and until now, nobody explained it to you.

If any of the following describes your life in recent months - zuvawellness Programme is for you:
• Weight gains you cannot explain - especially around your abdomen - despite not changing
what you eat
• Fatigue that sleep does not fix. You wake up exhausted. The day drains you before it
begins.
• Hot flushes or night sweats arriving without warning - leaving you drained, embarrassed, or
disrupted
• Brain fog, poor concentration, or memory lapses affecting your work and your confidence
• Anxiety, irritability, or mood shifts that do not feel like you
• Sleep that is broken, shallow, or never restorative - regardless of how many hours you get
• Low confidence, changes in self-image, or a feeling that your body no longer belongs to you
• Low libido or changes in sexual health that you cannot explain or discuss with anyone
• Bone density, cholesterol, or blood pressure flagged by your doctor - with no structured plan
to address it
You are not lazy. You are not weak. You are not imagining it. Your body is navigating one of the most significant biological transitions of any human life. And it has been navigating it alone.

Understanding what is happening to your vehicle is the first step. Having a structured, evidence- based programme that responds to all of it simultaneously, by a team that understands this stage of life is the next. That is Zuva.

Zuva is a private wellness programme for women in perimenopause and menopause. Six pillars,
each one addressing a specific system identified by the evidence as most at risk during this transition. Delivered from a private studio in Chisipite, Harare. Maximum 8 women per group.

June/July intake is open. Places are limited to 8 women per group. Once they are filled, the next intake will be announced.

The decision to pray, fast, exercise, work hard, and stay committed to any meaningful value is easy to agree with in theory but in practice, it requires structure and discipline.

Lasting change doesn’t come from intention alone; it comes from consistent, deliberate action repeated over time. What we repeatedly choose is what ultimately shapes who we become.

Being “led by the Spirit” and “walking by the Spirit” reflects a life of intentional alignment not passivity, but a disciplined way of living guided by conviction and truth.

The same principle applies in everyday life: when you commit to a way of living, your daily choices take responsibility for your direction. Transformation is not accidental it is built through will, consistency, and disciplined structure. Without that, even the best intentions eventually lose direction.

Loss of function often comes from a lack of intentional movement and the absence of consistent physical activity over time.

That is exactly what senior fitness classes are designed to address- purposeful movements that help maintain strength, improve daily function, and support independence, making everyday life easier and more manageable.

And sometimes chronic pain that a lot seniors experience comes from lack of movement and challenging skeletal muscles and getting quality sleep.

Find your reason- one that will last a lifetime.

I’ve been part of the 4AM Club since 2013. This structure works for me. Consistency is rarely about motivation; it’s about having a system and a purpose strong enough to carry you through the days when motivation fades.

I train because I want to feel powerful- not because of what I achieve, but because I have done the work. I put in the effort and trust God to bless what my hands have built.

I believe I have to:

Train the body.
Train the mind.
Nourish the soul.

Because that is what a human being is. These are the foundations upon which a healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling life is built.

The goal is not to be the strongest person in the room. The goal is to keep moving, keep improving, keep physical independence and keep enjoying life.

You can build significant strength at any age- including 90.

Resistance training preserves and builds muscle mass. Balance work prevents falls and maintains independence. Both are trainable at any age and represent the single highest-return investment a senior can make in their health.

As we age, we all lose balance - and that’s exactly what she’s working on. Seniors cannot afford fractures, especially hip fractures. At this age, getting stronger isn’t optional; it’s necessary for independence, confidence, and quality of life.

She’s on fire 🔥
