CHAPUNGU FC BOW OUT OF MUNHUMUTAPA CHALLENGE CUP

Chapungu Football Club's Zimbabwe Football Association Munhumutapa Challenge Cup campaign came to an end following a narrow 1–0 defeat to a determined MWOS FC U19 side in a preliminary Round of 64 encounter played at Ascot Stadium this afternoon.

CHAPUNGU FC EDGE SUPER STRIKERS TO STRENGTHEN GRIP AT THE SUMMIT

Chapungu Football Club continued their impressive ZIFA Central Region Soccer League campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over a resilient Super Strikers FC Official in a fiercely contested Matchday 15 encounter at Ascot Stadium this afternoon.

The Waru Waru boys controlled much of the first half, creating several promising opportunities but were unable to convert their dominance into goals as the visitors defended resolutely.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 58th minute when right-back Thulani Mkumwalopa delivered a pinpoint cross that was expertly guided home by winger Believe 'Chipolopolo' Mudzangwe, sending the Ascot faithfuls into celebration.

Chapungu had an opportunity to extend their lead 12 minutes later after being awarded a penalty when a goal-bound effort from Divine 'Mabo' Sibanda struck the hand of a Super Strikers defender inside the penalty area. Sibanda stepped up, but the visitors' goalkeeper produced an excellent save to keep his side in the contest.

Super Strikers remained competitive throughout and searched for a late equaliser, but Chapungu's disciplined defence stood firm to secure all three points in a match played with commitment and determination by both teams.

The victory further consolidates Chapungu FC's position at the top of the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League table, regardless of results elsewhere.
