Equipping people with social and emotional skills to be resilient for better life outcomes

Bullying prevention.
Be a buddy not a bully.
I have been advocating against bullying prevention in schools for sometime. Whenever there is a bullying incident that has gone public people come out in numbers with opinions and suggestions. After a while it's then forgotten and only to surface when another bullying incident happens. The real solution is to teach bullying prevention in schools by ensuring that social and emotional skills are taught and encouraged in schools. It should however start in the home. Parents should teach their children about being kind to their fellow pupils and standing up for those being bullied. In the DK recent bullying incident there are no upstanders to stand for the victim and the bully is encouraged to go on.
As a country we need to start the bullying conversation and address the issue. Countries that teach social emotional learning have very low rates of bullying.
Bullying prevention is everyone's responsibility. By fostering respect, inclusion, and open communication, we can create environments where everyone feels safe and supported.

Happy New Month 😊

Early this month, on the 17th of October, Tender Hearts Parenting Center was invited to speak to pupils at Pine Wood Preparatory School about bullying what it is, how it affects others, and how we can stand up against it.
We shared that bullying can happen in different ways:

1️⃣ Hurting with words – teasing, name calling, or spreading rumors done intentionally and repetitively.

2️⃣ Hurting with actions – pushing, hitting, or taking someone’s things.

3️⃣ Leaving someone out – refusing to let others join in games or activities.

4️⃣ Online bullying – sending mean messages or posting hurtful things online.
We discussed how bullying makes others feel sad, scared, and alone and why it’s important to speak up, be kind, and support one another.

💪 Together, we encouraged pupils to always remember
✨ Be a Buddy, Not a Bully! ✨Let’s make our schools a place where everyone feels safe, respected, and happy.
