PROGRESS SPORT CLUB ILLUMINATES PRE-SEASON PROMISE AS YOUTHFUL TALENT TAKES CENTRE STAGE AGAINST MVULA SOCCER SCHOOL ACADEMY.

Progress Sport Club hosted Mvula Soccer School Academy on Monday afternoon at the famous Mt Makulu Primary School Ground in an entertaining pre-season friendly played in two sets.

The opening set featured Progress Sport Club's youthful feeder team, captained by Blessing Mubamba, who secured a deserved 2–1 victory through goals from Bube Kaonga and Florence Mphande, while the visitors scored a consolation goal. In the second set, Progress's senior side delivered another commanding performance as versatile striker Karen Mukabe netted a clinical brace in a convincing 2–0 triumph.

Florence Mphande, affectionately known as "Mayo," emerged as one of the afternoon's standout performers, featuring impressively in both sets and demonstrating remarkable endurance, confidence, versatility, and steady development.

Mvula Soccer School Academy also earned commendation for its age-specific grassroots football development concept, a structured approach that continues to provide an ideal platform for identifying, nurturing, and developing young football talent.

Beyond the results, the friendly celebrated the shared commitment of both clubs to grassroots football, reaffirming that sustainable player development remains the cornerstone of a brighter future for community football.
