MUF BOYS ENJOY MEMORABLE RUN AT ZAMBIA CLOSED
Unseeded pair Ngandu and Simbaya reach men's doubles final in Ndola

It was a tournament to remember for the Mufulira Boys

Unseeded pair Moses Ngandu and Richard Simbaya enjoyed a sensational run to the men's doubles final of the Zambia Closed Senior Tennis Championships.

The Mufulira duo started with a 6-4, 6-3 win over qualifiers Hitham Mansour and Ivwananji Silomba in the Round of 16.

They then knocked out 3rd seeds Maxwell Nkhata and Abednego K***a in the quarterfinals.

Their biggest win came in the semi-finals where they caused another upset, defeating 2nd seeds Dickson Phiri and Peter Simbeye in a fiery encounter 3-6, 7-6, 10-7.

Their run came to an end in the final where they met their match against top seeds and singles finalists Edgar Kazembe and Jordan Mwale_.

It was a breakthrough week for Ngandu and Simbaya that showed the Copperbelt tennis is still going strong 💪🏽.
