- a traditional warrior dance from Southern Province of Zambian. Embracing our African Culture.
Budima was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of
Humanity in 2020. It is performed by the Valley Tonga people during traditional ceremonies, harvest celebrations, installations of chiefs, weddings, funerals, and other important cultural occasions. The dance features long spears, shields, ceremonial axes, horns, drums, rattles, and energetic jumping movements.
