New Zealand vs Zambia A – Tour Report from Kit Brooks, Coach/Captain

The final two matches of the tour saw us take on the strong Zambia A side in what proved to be two highly competitive and enjoyable games.

In yesterday’s match, we got off to a great start and held the lead for much of the game. Unfortunately, Zambia fought their way back in the closing stages, and we eventually went down by two goals. While the result was disappointing, it gave us confidence that we could match it with the home side.

Today we responded with an excellent team performance. Everyone contributed, and after another close contest we came away with a one-goal victory. To claim the overall series trophy we needed to win by more than two goals, so despite taking the win, Zambia retained the trophy.

Although we fell just short of the overall result we were chasing, it was a fantastic way to finish the tour. We improved with every game, built great combinations as a team, and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play against quality opposition. We’d like to thank Zambia for their outstanding hospitality throughout the week, the loan of some fantastic horses, and for making it such a memorable tour.

Kenyan Polo

The Zambia Schools (away) team traveled to Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil, Kenya this weekend. After two days of mixed polo, our Zambian Team took on a strong Kenyan team and came out on top 8.5 goals to 5.
Thank you to Kenyan Polo for hosting us, we look forward to reciprocating over the upcoming years.
