Repost 🐎 ✨
A very long overdue throwback to one of the most special weeks of 2025. 🤍
Last November I hosted the very first fully OTC private ride - in Zambia - and somehow eight women who all arrived as solo travellers ended up feeling like a group that had known each other forever.
There’s something about the Simalaha plains that is impossible to explain until you’ve experienced it yourself: wind through your hair, happy horses, endless space for joyful gallops, local fishermen and their kids waving from the shores, and the occasional hippo making a surprise appearance in the distance.
At the end of the week, I shared a poem I had written for the group. I left out the personal verses, but that poem has become one of my favourite souvenirs from the trip. And judging by the tears at the farewell, I think we all felt that something extraordinary had happened during those eight days.
Some places stay with you long after you’ve left them. Simalaha is definitely one of them. 🇿🇲
A huge thank you to for creating the kind of riding experience that gives people freedom, connection, and a little bit of magic all at once.
And an even bigger thank you to Ilse, Laura, Ellen, Lisa, Roos, Sarah, Harriet, and Milena for eight unforgettable days that I’ll carry with me for a lifetime. ✨
Until next time x

The floodplains are beginning to dry, opening up incredible access to the mighty Zambezi River – and with it comes one of the most spectacular birding seasons of the year! This is the magical time when the African Openbill Storks arrive in their thousands, joined by Yellow-billed Storks, Great White Pelicans, Wattled Cranes, Marabou Storks, countless waterbirds, and the unmistakable Southern Ground Hornbills.
For bird lovers, there is simply no better place to be. Every ride reveals something extraordinary as the plains transform and wildlife gathers along the waterways..
