π± Soil Health and Composting Training in Chongwe District π±
From 2nd to 4th June 2026, the Agricultural Knowledge and Training Centre (AKTC) successfully conducted a series of Soil Health and Composting Trainings in the Kasenga area of Chongwe District.
The training targeted three cooperatives, reaching over 120 farmers from the area.
The sessions focused on enhancing farmers' understanding of the importance of soil health, including soil restoration and maintenance practices that are essential for sustainable crop production.
Participants were introduced to various composting methods and took part in a hands-on practical session on surface compost making, equipping them with skills to improve soil fertility using locally available resources.
As climate change continues to affect agricultural productivity, AKTC remains committed to empowering farmers with practical knowledge and sustainable farming practices that promote resilient and productive farming systems.

Winter wheat planting is underway! π±
The conventional 5 hectares have now been planted, complementing the other 5 hectares under conservation agriculture that were planted just 3 days ago.
Itβs always exciting to see both systems side by side β a practical comparison of approaches as we continue promoting sustainable and productive farming practices.
Looking forward to monitoring crop performance, soil health, and overall outcomes in the coming weeks.
