⌚ BEHIND THE RESULTS: WHY IS MY WATCH TIME DIFFERENT?

Ever crossed the finish line and noticed that the time on your watch doesn't quite match your official parkrun time? 🤔

There's a simple reason!
Your watch records your activity from when you start and stop it, while your official parkrun time is recorded by our Timekeepers as you cross the finish line. ⏱️

There can therefore be a difference between the two — and that's perfectly normal! Your watch may also record a slightly different distance or start/finish point.

Your official parkrun time is the one used for your parkrun result and PBs. 🏃‍♂️💜

Behind every result is a team of volunteers making sure your finish is captured and recorded.

What a wonderful international and South African mix we had at Val du Charron this week! 🌍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⁣
⁣
Among our 149 finishers, we welcomed visitors from Taiwan and Australia, as well as parkrunners who travelled from Port Elizabeth and Yzerfontein to join us in Wellington. Thank you!⁣
⁣
A special congratulations goes to JP Strydom, who reached his 100th volunteer milestone! JP has been a long-standing, loyal volunteer and has become one of those friendly, familiar faces that help make Saturday mornings so enjoyable. Thank you, JP, for all the time and energy you’ve given to our parkrun community.⁣
⁣
A special mention goes to Jabulani Mkhize, who has now completed an incredible 616 parkruns — and has visited almost every parkrun event in South Africa. He is down to just one remaining event to complete them all! 👏 He was joined by passionate parkrunner Louis Janse Van Rensburg doing his 560th ⁣
⁣
We also welcomed 71 people new to our event, 12 of which completed their first-ever parkrun. ⁣
⁣
Well done to everyone who ran, walked, jogged, volunteered and cheered from the sidelines. And a big thank you to our 22 volunteers, whose support makes each Saturday morning possible.⁣
⁣
Another great morning at Val du Charron 😊

⚫ MILESTONE MONDAY ⚫

On Saturday, 26 September 2026, one of our regular volunteers achieved his 100 volunteers milestone!
Congratulations JP! 🎉

Out of his 100 volunteer credits, most of them have been at our local parkruns in Wellington.

Thank you JP for everything you do for our parkrun and for always stepping in when we need help.

To many more milestones at Val du Charron!
