🥇 KSA League 1 — Port Elizabeth 🇿🇦

What an incredible weekend for Bryce Hay ! 🥋🔥

Bryce took Gold 🥇 in the Cadets Kumite +70kg division, putting in another outstanding performance and once again showing exactly why he was selected to represent South Africa at the Continental Championships in Algeria next month! 🇿🇦🇩🇿

After an awesome performance on the tatami, we enjoyed a Sunday lunch with some of our fellow Seiwakai South Africa members at the famous Balkan Burger before heading off to the airport. 🍔✈️

One of the things I love most about these national events is that they have become about so much more than just competition. The friendships, relationships, experiences and memories we are building along the way are truly special. 🥋

So proud of you, Bryce. Algeria awaits! 🇩🇿🔥

🥋 A Wonderful Day of Karate at Waterfall College! 🥋

On 15 August 2026, Waterfall College hosted its annual Karate Tournament, and what a fantastic success it was!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by Lion Heart Karate, with our students bringing home an impressive 44 medals! 🏅👏

A huge congratulations to every student who participated. Your dedication, discipline, hard work and sportsmanship were truly commendable. We are so proud of each and every one of you!

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the dojos who joined us and helped make the tournament such a memorable and enjoyable day. Your participation and support contributed greatly to the success of the event.

A special thank you to Jayne Cansfield for capturing the day so beautifully with her amazing photographs, and to all the referees, judges, coaches, parents and students who gave their time and assistance throughout the tournament.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Mrs Green for her continued support, encouragement and commitment to promoting and uplifting karate at Waterfall Schools. Your support is greatly appreciated and makes a meaningful difference to our karate community.

Today, we celebrate an incredible milestone! 🇿🇦🥋

A massive congratulations to Bryce Hay on being selected to represent South Africa at the UFAK Championships in Algeria next month! What an unbelievable achievement, and one that has been earned through years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work.

For the past five years, Bryce has trained relentlessly, faced setbacks, pushed through challenges, and never gave up on his dream.

Every early morning, every tough training session, every competition, and every lesson has led to this moment.

I still remember Bryce starting karate with me as a 10 year old boy. Watching him grow, not only into an incredible athlete but also into a respectful, disciplined, and determined young man. This has been one of the greatest privileges as his coach.

This opportunity to wear green and gold, is a testament to the commitment and character he has shown over the years. We couldn't be prouder of everything he has achieved, and we know he will represent South Africa with pride and honour.

Congratulations, Bryce! Your Lion Heart Karate family will be cheering you on every step of the way. 🇿🇦💚💛

A successful weekend at the KSA Opens tournament. Isobel McIntosh winning Bronze in Kata at her first national event. Bryce Hay winning silver for kumite, kicking his way to the top again. Charlie Bohmke started off strong winning her first round. She did super well for her first national tournament as well!

What a fantastic and successful weekend at the Seiwakai Nationals in JHB!
We left with 4 Golds, 2 Silvers, 3 Bronze medals.
I'm so proud of all the kids and everything they achieved this weekend. They did Lion Heart proud!
We were the loudest and most spirited group and a true dojo family!
