ROGUE US TROPHY HUNTERS AND THE LACEY ACT
I'm sure by now you are used to, or have already accepted that in me, you have the nameless, and possibly spineless creature of the graveyard which lies between human madness and everything in between.
Besides myself and the poachers, God also had enough time that he wasted on manufacturing more spineless creatures whose virulent ability to multiply shocks me to this day.
A species which, like the rinderpest of the late 1930s, continues to cause untold damage to buffalo populations across the world.
Fortunately, one of those creatures is an American trophy hunter called Hayden Robb.
I'm not sure if Hayden Robb is subject to the American constitution as would be the case if he was a normal citizen.
But events on the ground in Botswana suggest Mr Robb could be as high as a Hunter could be called Biden and that makes him too big an alligator.
Mr Robb's boldness in inviting US citizens to hunt in the contested NG13 hunting concession in Botswana, in conjunction with DK Superior Pty Limited who directors are Messrs Dawie Groenewald and former Botswanas justice minister Ronald Shamukuni, suggests even the Lacey Act would not touch him.
Ordinarily, the Lacey Act would put Mr Robb in a cell because by order of the High Court of Botswana, no no hunting can take place in the NG13 until the court case to determine its rightful ownership is determined by the same court.
The fact that Mr Robb is hunting in a contested concession means he is doing business in a contested space covered by a temporary business ban
Until the matter is settled, there is no legal holder of the NG13 hunting lease. Meaning Robb is inviting US citizens to hunt illegally with rogues in a contested space.
He is inviting US citizens to wilfully violate the Botswana High Court order that prohibits hunting in the NG13 right now. Is Robb immune from the Lacey Act?
