The 18th hole at Royal Birkdale normally plays as a par 5, but at this week’s Open Championship it is a par 4 measuring in at close to 500 yards. And with a scoring average of 4.77, it is currently the most difficult hole on the course.
We took it on using the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 on GS Pro simulation software.
If you’re looking to improve your wedge play, give this drill a try ➡️
Wedge Ladder Challenge:
- Try to hit 5 shots with each wedge
- Start off with a pitch/half shot and monitor the carry distance
- From there, try increase the carry distance of each shot by 10m/10y
- End the challenge with your 100% swing, or a full wedge shot
Over time you’ll give yourself more variation with your wedges and ultimately more control as well - helping you shoot lower scores on the course.
