Round of the year so far. Scrambling around the greens shaved some serious strokes - up and down 73% of the time I missed greens in regulation.

Playing the Wednesday comp at Gonubie golf club. Field of around 40, feeling optimistic...

I had THE most amazing experience at today.

Challenging layout, incredible scenery and superb service. If I didn't live 1000km away I'd be back regularly.

I wasn't initially impressed with their compulsory cart rule but halfway through the second hole, I quickly understood why it is necessary. Slope rating of 142 means the climbs are ridiculous. I wouldn't have survived walking that!

Shot 1 over par (9 holes) and walked away with a massive smile on my face.

First round of golf in almost 3 weeks. Rusty and stiff but so good to be back at it.

First time playing Gonubie Golf Club. R110 for all-day green fees on Monday and Tuesday. Wadda bargain!

Can't wait for the week's golf. 3 Brand new courses to add to my list!
