Gert Sibande Chess held the first ever ladies only tournament on 29 August 2026.
This is going to be an annual tournament to be held every August.
Thank you very much to Lintle For The Youth for sponsoring the tournament with medals and trophies.

The Mkhondo Sub-district Individual Championship was held at eMkhondo(Piet Retief) on 28 August 2026.
Congratulations to all players who managed to qualify for the Gert Sibande District Finals. To be held on 05 August 2026.

Nkangala Chess Federation held a successful election where a new committee was elected into office. The election was on 20 August 2026
The process was overseen by the province,which officially disbanded the old structure. The Nkangala Sports Confederation sent their rep as an election officer.

On 14 Aug the best from Rookies 1&2 played the Gert Sibande Finals with only 2teams per age group proceeding to the Mpumalanga topschools competitions to be held on the 22nd of August at Laerskool Ermelo. These are the teams to represent Gert Sibande at the Provincial level this weekend.
