At some point, you have to stop making excuses.

There will always be work.
There will always be responsibilities.
There will always be something competing for your time and money.

But your health can’t keep coming last.

Make the decision.
Move your body.
Eat better.
Get enough sleep.
Make time for yourself.
And most importantly - be consistent.

You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to keep choosing yourself, every single day.

Because your future self is going to live with the choices you’re making today.

Make sure she has something to thank you for. πŸ’œ

I honestly didn’t think I’d get this. πŸ˜‚

80kg. 4 reps.

And I’m 65.5kg.

I just looked at the weight and thought… let me see if I can actually move it.

And somehow I did. πŸ˜‚ I did drop the weight and did another 8 just because in my mind doing 4 reps feels useless (don’t ask πŸ˜„)

At 43, I’m stronger, fitter and healthier than I’ve ever been. And that feeling of surprising yourself is honestly one of the best feelings.

It’s not even about lifting heavy.

It’s about realising your body can do things you didn’t think it could.

Maybe you’re capable of way more than you give yourself credit for too. πŸ’œ

I probably look very serious when I’m walking through the gym πŸ˜‚πŸŽ§

But honestly… what’s going on in my head is usually the complete opposite.

I’m singing, dancing, laughing, talking to myself and probably making some ridiculous face between sets. πŸ˜‚

Yes, I train hard. I push myself. I want to get stronger and I love seeing what my body can do.

But I’m also having fun.

And I think that’s one of the biggest changes for me.

I’m not training because I hate my body or because I’m trying to punish it into looking different.

I train because I’ve learned to love this body β€” ALL of it. The strong parts, the soft parts, the imperfect parts… all the things that make me ME.

And funny enough, that’s when I started seeing the biggest changes.

Maybe loving your body first really does change everything. 🀍

Ladies, can we talk about something I see ALL the time in the gym?

Women doing the same weights, the same reps, week after week… and then wondering why their body isn’t changing.

This morning I decided to pick up a heavier dumbbell just to see if I could do it.

I got 6 reps.

So now I’ve got a new goal: get that to 8… then 10… then 12.

And once I can do 10–12 reps with that weight?

I’m going up again.

That’s how you get stronger. That’s how you challenge your muscles. That’s how you actually create change.

And honestly…

If you can have a full conversation while doing your set, you probably aren’t working hard enough.

If you finish every set with loads left in the tank, you probably aren’t working hard enough.

If you never add weight to the machine because it feels β€œcomfortable”…

You guessed it. πŸ˜‚

You probably aren’t challenging yourself enough.

And before someone says, β€œBut I don’t want to get bulky…”

Sharon. Please. πŸ˜‚

You are NOT going to accidentally become a bodybuilder because you picked up a heavier dumbbell.

Building a lot of muscle takes years of consistently training for it AND eating to support it.

So no, I’m not telling you to go and deadlift 200kg tomorrow.

I’m saying stop underestimating yourself.

Add a little more weight.

Get one more rep.

Try the heavier dumbbell.

Make the last few reps HARD.

Your body needs a reason to adapt.

And if every workout feels easy, comfortable and exactly the same…

you’re not really training.

You’re just exercising.

There’s a difference. πŸ’ͺ🏼

Next time you’re in the gym, ask yourself:

β€œAm I actually challenging myself, or am I just going through the motions?”

That little question might change your entire workout.
