MOSES MOFYA EDGES DILELE SHAMHU 9-8 TO WIN ARUSHA MEN'S SINGLES PRE-TOURNAMENT

ARUSHA, TANZANIA — Moses Mofya of Zambia claimed the Men's Singles Pre-Tournament title at the Cue Masters Billiards Center, edging Zimbabwe's Adriel "Dilele" Shamhu 9-8 in a decider that went the distance.

The final score read Moses Mofya 9-8 Dilele Zawe, capping a tightly contested race-to-7 knockout that ran through four rounds before reaching the podium match. The win gives Mofya a strong confidence boost heading into the main draw of the CueMasters International Tournament.

Shamhu, better known as Dilele, was the standout performer of the pre-tournament despite falling just short in the final. He moved through the field convincingly, highlighted by a semifinal-stage win over fellow rising talent Kayanja Ibra of Uganda, before running Mofya all the way to a deciding frame.

The 32-player knockout draw produced several notable performances across the early rounds. Harry, Kiande, Rango, Habibu, and Samwel all advanced through tight opening rounds before falling in the later stages, while Wandege and Kiande pushed deep into the final eight and four respectively before bowing out.

With the pre-tournament wrapped up, attention now turns to the main event at the Cue Masters Billiards Center, where Mofya, Shamhu, and the rest of the Arusha field look to carry their form into the CueMasters International Tournament 2026.
