Good evening residents,
Tonight, our responders participated in a training session hosted by the Durban Drug Unit, focusing on current drug trends and indicators. This training was crucial in educating our team about the growing issue of substance abuse, which is rapidly evolving into a pandemic.
In Richards Bay, he**in, methcathinone khat (cat), and ma*****na are commonly used substances. Alarmingly, we were informed that children are experimenting with khat, prompting us to urge parents to engage with their children, monitor their associations, and verify their whereabouts.
Dealers are targeting vulnerable individuals, and it is imperative that parents report suspicious activity to prevent further devastation.
The CPF would like to thank the Durban Drug Unit and Baywolf Security for their contributions to tonight's training. We appreciate our responders' dedication to maintaining safety in Meerensee.

Good evening residents,
We have initiated a Camera Project to combat the high crime levels prevalent in our area. Five crime hotspots have been identified for the installation of 12 surveillance cameras.
Thanks to the support of community members and sponsors, a significant portion of the camera and pole costs have been covered. However, approximately R8,000 remains outstanding to cover installation costs and additional necessary equipment.
We appeal to the community for contributions to complete this initiative, with every donation bringing us closer to a safer Meerensee. The project will aid in suspect identification, evidence gathering, and support law enforcement efforts.
For contributions or inquiries, please contact us. Thank you for your support, please share this post 🙏🏻
Kind regards,
Meerensee CPF

Good evening residents,
In reference to Sunday's post concerning the illegal connection, we have identified its source as a camp located near the taxi rank.
The items linked to this connection included animal deworming medication, cat food sachets, and LED lights. This incident heightens our concern due to the increasing crime rate in Meerensee.
We recommend that residents test their alarm systems regularly and remain proactive about their safety measures. The CPF will continue to offer assistance and stresses the necessity of opening a police case following any break-ins and sending the case number to Mel.
Thank you to our responders and Baywolf Security for the assistance.
Kind regards,
Meerensee CPF

Good evening residents,
3x ARRESTS
Following reports of a domestic situation in Meerensee, our emergency responders were promptly dispatched to the scene. During their attendance, an illegal connection was observed, which constitutes a serious offense.
Tampering with infrastructure poses significant risks, including fires, severe injuries, and loss of life. We commend the vigilant citizen who alerted the CPF and our responders for their swift response.
Unfortunately, a recent incident in Richards Bay resulted in electrocution when an individual attempted to steal cables. We urge the public to notify us immediately if they witness any electrical tampering.
Thank to ISS Security for assisting as well.
Regards,
Meerensee CPF
