Someday You'll Understand
Dear Future Leader,
Right now...
You're still little.
You probably don't understand why Mom and Dad ask you to make your bed.
Why we remind you to say "yes, sir" and "yes, ma'am."
Why we expect you to finish what you start.
Or why we keep taking you to martial arts, even on the days you say you're tired.
One day...
You'll understand.
You'll understand that confidence wasn't something we could buy you.
It had to be earned.
You'll realize discipline wasn't about following rules...
It was about learning to keep promises to yourself.
You'll discover that respect wasn't about making adults happy...
It was about becoming someone people could trust.
Every class...
Every bow.
Every belt.
Every challenge.
Every time you stood back up after falling...
You weren't just learning martial arts.
You were becoming the person you were meant to be.
One day, someone will look to you for guidance.
Someone will believe in you.
Someone will follow your example.
And when that day comes...
I hope you remember where it all began.
Not with a trophy.
Not with a black belt.
