POMC Funrun to Rustenburg

This one is called HOT 57 GP. Somebody owns it, and drives it.

A 1957 Chevrolet on the field at Cars in the Park, Zwartkops. Red over chrome, and a number plate that tells you exactly how the owner feels about it.

Now show us yours. Put a photo of your car in the comments, whatever it is and whatever condition it is in. Tell us what it is and how long you have had it. Half finished projects are welcome, and the best ones go up on this page.

Look closer.

Five things on the field at Cars in the Park, Zwartkops, that nobody builds anymore. Tail fins that serve no purpose whatsoever. A chrome hound standing mid leap on a radiator. Wire wheels laced by hand. A brass badge that reads 1909. And a row of velocity stacks left open to the sky.

None of it makes a car faster or safer. All of it is why people still stop and look.

Swipe through, then tell us which one you would put on your own car and what you would put it on. And send it to the one person you know who would understand.

The pedal in the middle is the accelerator. The one on the right is the brake.

That is a 1925 Citroen, and almost nothing in it sits where you would expect. Clutch on the left, accelerator in the middle, brake on the right. You start it with a button on the floor. You advance and re**rd the ignition timing by hand, while you drive. And the gearbox is crossed, so the pattern is nothing like the H you learned on.

It has brights and dims too. On a car built in 1925.

Filmed on the field at Cars in the Park, Zwartkops.

Send this to the person who reckons they could drive anything. And if you have ever driven something with the throttle in the middle, tell us what it was.
