What a fantastic tournament from the Vuma Veterans! 💚🏏

Although we fell short in the semi-finals, our players were among the best throughout the competition.

🏏 Wynand finished as the 2nd highest run scorer of the tournament.
🎯 Zahid was the 2nd highest wicket-taker.
🙌 In the fielding rankings, we had three players in the top five: Juan Coetser, Mobin Ullah Butt, and Wynand Opperman.

I’m incredibly proud of the team’s commitment, performances, and spirit. It was a memorable tournament, and this is just the beginning.

We’ll come back stronger next season and fight to bring home the title! 💚🏆

Vuma Crew – Memories Beyond the Boundary! 🏏📸

It is with great sadness that Irene Villagers Cricket Club learned of the passing of Nico Nieuwenhuis yesterday evening.

Nico was a valued member of the Villagers family, both as a player within our Veterans section and through his service on the Cricket Committee as Veterans Chairman. He gave generously of his time to the club and was passionate about ensuring that the spirit of cricket, friendship and community remained at the heart of the Veterans programme.

His contribution extended far beyond the boundary ropes. Nico's leadership, commitment and willingness to serve helped shape the club and the people around him, leaving a lasting impact on the Villagers community.

On behalf of everyone at Irene Villagers Cricket Club, we extend our deepest condolences to Nico's family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Nico will be fondly remembered and his contribution to our club will remain a valued part of our history and heritage.
