Padmasana/Lotus Pose

This deep-bending pose brings focus and stillness because:
The Lotus Pose strengthens specific joints of the body โ€“ which includes the joints around the knees and the sacroiliac joints. This particular pose also enhances joint flexibility.
Students become conscious and aware of the pose, keeping their physical movements minimal. They shift to focus on our breath. Soft & smooth breathing improves concentration.
The interlocking of your legs makes various body parts press into the acupuncture points of the stomach, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, and liver.

Ustrasana/Camel Pose

This heart-opening, strengthening posture brings empowerment because:
We are likely to be sitting or slouching and bending our spine forward. We flex it in the opposite direction by doing a backbend, and this toning enhances body posture.
The chest cavity is enhanced, and this results in cardiovascular fitness. The expansion of the diaphragm is beneficial for respiration.
It enhances circulation to the digestive tract, thus improving digestion, appetite, and excretion of food. An effective digestive system energizes the body.

Balasana/Child Pose

This restorative & grounding pose brings a moment of peace because:
The shoulders and the neck are in a surrendering position, which eases the neck and enhances neck flexibility.
The chest is constricted, yet the heart is relaxed. The forward bend enhances blood circulation to the heart, and the breath is calm and rhythmic.
This simple restorative pose chanelises the prana from the Root Chakra to the Sahasrara Chakra and vice versa in a very gentle and calming manner. The body is energized effortlessly and this balances the mind, removing mental and physical fatigue.

Gomukhasana /Cow Face pose

This deep binding pose cultivates strength, awareness, and range of motion because:
Since the legs at the thighs are interlocked, the muscles at the quadriceps get flexible, and the stretch is felt deep at the hips as these joints are put to work to get the thighs interlocked well.
The entire spine is stretched, bringing in a good flow of prana from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, and the reverse from the crown to the base of the spine right after releasing from the pose.
The pelvis is active, the core is engaged, and the shoulders function differently to open the chest, but the spine stays long, stretched, and almost neutral. When these things are kept in mind consciously, the holding of the pose becomes far easier.

Virasana/Hero Pose

This extremely deep pose cultivates strength, awareness, and balance because:
It stretches and strengthens the hips when placed firmly between the feet. By bringing both knees closer, it puts pressure on them and makes the knees robust.
It improves the posture of the spine, keeping the body upright and strong. It helps in improving mental focus during pranayama and meditation when done in the posture.
The gentle pressure at the lower belly activates the Sacral Chakra (Swadisthana Chakra), which is well-known for stimulating the creative energy, and the Manipura Chakra, which is responsible for the fire element inside the body that burns out the toxins from the body.
