Our Marks Park Thistles players were well rewarded at Saturday's Lions Club Awards held at the prestigious DPWORLD Wanderers Stadium.

Zakwan Patel:
Best bowler - Lions Academy
Player of the Season - Lions Academy
(Represented the Lions T20)

Armaan Manack:
Lions U19 player of the season
(Represented SAU19 and at the World Cup and SA Emerging in Division 2)

Morteza Manack:
Premier League Time bowler of the season.
(Represented Lions T20 and SA Emerging in Division 2)

Lions Cricket News Muhammad Manack
From a toddler climbing the trees and loitering around the cricket grounds to dominating the biggest of stadiums Moe through his passion, resilience, determination and patience rises once again in the T20 format for his domestic childhood club, Marks Park Thistles CC as they defend their Jozi Cup title in a nail biter of a finish at the DP World Wanderers Stadium 13 June 2026.

Moe who recently also was announced as the CSA Emerging squad and bravely led the dynamic youth to their second title. Moe finishing the tournament as the best batsmen with a century and more than 300 runs. With humility he received the winners trophy guiding the next generation with finesse .

The club management would like to Thank Moe for always willing to give his time to return home when he is available and the sky is the limit. We hope to see him in the green and gold soon and trust the future of cricket is in Great hands.

Lions Cricket News The Road to our back to back final was not made easy. The resilience showed by the team and made it count when it mattered. Congratulations to our gentlemen for making the final once again and will take on Old Edwardians Cricket Club at the DP World Wanderers Stadium , 13 June 2026, 6PM as our boys defend their title. It will be a nail biter but it will be another bull ring special as it is the theatre of cricket in South Africa.

Gates will be open so bring your friends and family and come enjoy some@fantastic cricket as we have our Vets and Senior teams also in the knockouts and will wait with baited breath to see if they will also be making that journey to the bull ring.

Thank you to our players, support staff and families . Another Great Jozi Cup reaches its climax .

As the finals weekend adorns us for the we are proud to announce that 3 of our senior teams have all qualified for the knockouts.

You are all welcome to come through to the stadium on Saturday and Sunday. See you all there

Pic 1: earning his 3rd pink cap of the tournament and leading MVP and Batting rankings. Yesterday scoring another magnificent 92 for the Men’s Seniors. The team marched onto the semifinals.

Pic2: Scoring a magnificent 69* (42) and 2/17 (4) showing good all round performance to secure the top of the table spot for the Men’s Vets team.

Pic3: has been nothing short amazing watching him bat as he scored another magnificent 70 runs and putting him far ahead in the batting rankings as the number 1 spot. With huge sixes being bashed , he has become the Sultan of the Vets Cricket of recent .
