🇮🇹 CIM Rieti – The road to WGC 2027!

The CIM 2026 in Rieti is proving to be the perfect rehearsal for the 2027 FAI World Gliding Championships, where the Club, Standard and 15 meter classes will return to this legendary soaring venue.

On 9th August, Didier Hauss (France) claimed the day win in Open Class with the JS5 over a 463 km racing task, averaging an impressive 161.45 km/h. A fantastic performance in classic Rieti conditions.

On 8th August, Matthias Sturm demonstrated the exceptional speed of the JS3 in Open Class, winning the 2:15 AAT with a blistering 168 km/h average speed. Matthias has held the overall competition lead since Task 2, underlining the consistent performance of the JS3 throughout the competition so far.

With booming thermals, blue skies and world-class racing, CIM 2026 in Rieti is delivering exactly the kind of conditions we can expect to see again at WGC 2027.
