A massive congratulations to our four Achilleans who have officially been selected to represent Eastern Province Athletics at the ASA 10km National Championships in Potchefstroom on 17 October:

Four athletes, four very different running journeys, and one thing they most certainly have in common — they have earned those EP colours through consistent performances, commitment and plenty of hard work.

A little rain was certainly not going to keep the royal blue and white at home this past Saturday! Despite the very wet conditions, a number of Achilleans lined up for the Sportsmans Warehouse 15km and took on a challenging, hilly route through Sunridge Park.

We value every single Achillean who came out to represent our beloved royal blue and white. Whatever your pace or finishing position, you showed up, took on the conditions and those hills, and carried our club colours with pride. As always, there were also some fantastic performances to celebrate!

A huge thank you to Madiba Bay Warriors Running Club for hosting such an enjoyable event despite Mother Nature adding a little extra character to proceeding and congratulations to every runner who crossed that finish line.

90 YEARS OF ACHILLES

On Saturday, 12 September, our Achilleans swapped their sweaty royal blue and white running kit for their finest formal wear as we gathered at The Plantation to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone — 90 years of Achilles Amateur Athletics Association.

And what a celebration it was!

Around the room were members from our youngest at just 11 years old, right through to our oldest at 87 — a beautiful reflection of a club that spans generations, backgrounds, and walks (and running paces! 😜) of life.

Our speakers took us on a journey through where we have come from, who we are in 2026, and where we are going as we set our sights firmly on another very special celebration — our centenary in 2036. And there were plenty of laughs along the way! We were incredibly fortunate to have award-winning comedian and content creator — and, very importantly, four-time Comrades finisher — Rory Petzer as our guest speaker. Rory had us thoroughly entertained with his stories and wonderfully relatable take on running and life. What a genuinely lovely chap, and such a perfect fit for an evening celebrating runners and the friendships that come with this crazy sport of ours! 🏃‍♂️

But perhaps the most special part of the evening was simply looking around the room and seeing Achilleans, young and old, from all backgrounds, laughing, dancing, and celebrating together. That is Achilles. 💙🤍

The spirit of our beloved club is well and truly alive, and here's to another decade of conquering the roads, trails and maybe even a track or two! More importantly, here's to another decade of making wonderful friends, creating unforgettable memories, and wearing our royal blue and white with enormous pride.

90 years down. Just 10 to go until the BIG 100!

🌲⛰️ TSITSIKAMMA TRAIL ADVENTURE! ⛰️🌲

Some of our trail runners travelled through to Tsitsikamma yesterday for an epic day on the trails — and what a treat it was! 🤩

Stunning indigenous forests, gorgeous mountain views and trails that definitely gave us plenty to talk about afterwards! 😂💪

A huge well done to Duonette on an incredible 3rd place podium in the 30km! 🥉👏 And congratulations to all our runners who took on the 12km, 19km and 30km routes. 💙🤍

There’s just something special about travelling to these beautiful trails with club members — great company, big adventures and plenty of laughs along the way! 🥰
