LIQUOR LICENCE APPLICATION

The Ward Office has received an application for an On-Consumption Liquor Licence i.r.o. This is Me and My Kitchen, situated at Shop 6, Buffelsfontein Project, Buffelsfontein Road, Mt Pleasant.

The public is invited to comment or submit objections in writing, by Friday 09 October 2026 to [email protected] or a hard copy hand delivered to the Ward Office in Genadendal Rd, Miramar, in front of the Miramar Fire Station.

BAYRUN WITH DISCOVERY VITALITY - SATURDAY, 3 OCTOBER 2026

The ward office has received communication advising of the Bay Run with Discovery Vitality race taking place from Cape Recife High School, Admiralty Way on Saturday, 3 October 2025.
Kindly note the route map attached which marshalls and traffic officers will man at strategic points.
• 21.1km starting at 06h00,
• 5km starting at 06h05
• 10km starting at 06h15.
Final cut-off is 09h30

Motorists will be allowed supervised access and exit on the stretch of road of Marine Drive where Humewood Golf Club, Pine Lodge, Willows enter and exit, during the time that runners pass these points (between 06h00-07h00) All relevant parties have received this communication.

A noise exception certificate application is in process with the NMBM.

FAMILY FUN RUN AT SOMETHING GOOD ROADHOUSE – SUNDAY, 1 NOVEMBER 2026

The ward office has received communication advising of the planning of a family fun run event associated with Something Good Roadhouse.
Event date: Sunday, 1 November 2026
Event times: 07:00 – 12:00
Venue: Something Good Roadhouse
Route map and road closures will be shared.

The organisers will be working with the relevant authorities and service providers to ensure that the event is professionally managed and that appropriate measures are in place regarding security, safety, traffic, noise and the responsible management of the venue. A noise exception certificate application is in process with the NMBM.

STATS SA QUARTERLY LABOUR FORCE SURVEY PARALLEL

Stats SA is conducting a quarterly labour force survey to collect information to be used for planning, decision-making, monitoring and assessment of policies by other government department, businesses and the general public.

Survey fieldworkers will visit households in Gomery Avenue and Gomery Place, Summerstrand from today and conduct interviews to complete the survey questionnaire.

Stats SA's field office staff can be identified by the personalized official ID cards, however, should you wish to verify the authenticity of any representative, you can contact the Survey Officer MrMihle Malangeni 0723142280 or District Survey Co-Ordinator, Miss Zizodwa Matafeni 0717818157/0827837687.

Residents are encouraged to facilitate the field worker to conduct the ascribed task.

All information provided by the selected households will remain confidential in accordance with section 17 of the Statistics Acts.

WATER DISRUPTION SUMMERSTRAND

The water in Admiralty Way has been isolated due to yet another burst pipe.

The NMBM has repeatedly been requested to replace the line (since Nov 2024) but it is not on the list for the foreseeable future.
