THEIR CUP OF TEE | A hug in a mug at this time of year sounds about right.
But it doesn't quite warm the cockles of the heart quite like Sardinia Bay Golf Club’s Monthly Medal Mug Competition.
An extraordinary number of brave souls gripped it and ripped it last weekend despite the weather not being warm and fuzzy by any stretch of the imagination.
Below are the guys and gals who did it best.

THIS ONE’S FOR YOU, GREENS | It’s always a sad moment saying goodbye to a member of our Sards family.
Marlene “Greens” Groenewald, our wonderful ladies and ladies league skipper, will start a new chapter overseas and, suffice to say, more than a few tears have been shed since she shared the news.
At the same time, we are so happy for this incredible lady whose beautiful spirit has touched everyone at the club and beyond.
It was only fitting then that our ladies, Strictly Come Golfing group and committee organised a special competition to send Greens on her way in style.
Fitting, too, that we chose a green, Springboks theme with the latter playing – and demolishing – England later on the same day.
We also gave our original format a little twist, branding it Gruesome Greensomes.
In a nutshell, both players hit their tee shots on each hole. The opposing team then decides which ball must be used for the second shot. The ball not chosen is removed and the team proceeds using only the ball that remains in play.
Thank you to everyone who came out to pay tribute to our beloved Marlene.

Kudos to those who are always willing to brave the elements with a swing and a smile just to get a round in.
A message to all the Gqeberha golfers out there: You don’t have to be a member of Sardinia Bay Golf Club to take part. We welcome everyone with open arms.

WHY SO GREEN? | Pop by Sardinia Bay Golf Club anytime it takes your fancy and you will be struck by the blanket of green amid the greens.
While there is no denying that the autumn rains have played their part in the condition of the course, this winter's emerald look can be traced to another source.

REALLY? | Sundowners, Sardinia Bay Golf Club's weekly fun competition, is serious business.
Then someone names it an American Scramble "with a twist" and all credibility goes down the drain. Go figure.

DROP & RELIEF | The school holidays are almost here, folks.
We all know that means endless “requests” to the kids to venture outdoors instead of being barnacles on a couch gorging snacks and living an alternative reality on their phones.
Parents, you can now cast those worries aside. Sards has got you!
On weekdays, and for just a hundred bucks, your offspring can enjoy nine holes on the Bay’s best little course during the winter break.
Simply drop 'em off and go or drop 'em off and don't. If you chose the latter, stick around for a peaceful drink and snack on the clubhouse deck.
With a little bit of luck, the game of golf may just motivate them to detach themselves from that couch by choice.
Contact the clubhouse for more info or to book (special ends on July 20): Members of the public wanting to know more can go here: https://www.sardiniabayestate.co.za/sardinia-bay-golf-club/fees-membership/

ELECTRIC ECLECTIC | The format for our latest Order of Merit competition was fitting for Sardinia Bay Golf Club - eclectic.
Jokes aside, for those new to game, an eclectic tournament is a multi-round competition where a golfer compiles one "dream" scorecard. This is done by taking their lowest score on each hole across all the rounds played.
A field of 23 took on the challenge and, as ever, we say thank you to every single one of them for supporting the event last week.
