If you’re always the person everyone calls when they need something, this might be for you.

5 DAYS TO MY 40TH BIRTHDAY ✨
2004 → 2026.

Looking through 22 years of photos made me realise something:

For a long time, I confused being needed with being loved.

Growing up, I learned to be helpful, responsible and to do what was expected of me.

So I became very good at reading the room.

Helping. Fixing. Working hard. Being the reliable one.

But while I became very good at knowing what everyone else needed, I wasn’t nearly as good at asking:

What does Bernadene need?

And even when I achieved something, I rarely stopped to celebrate it. I was already chasing the next thing.

Today, I know myself differently.

I can help people without needing to be needed.

I can be ambitious without constantly proving myself.

And most importantly, I can celebrate who I was, who I am and who I’m becoming.

So here’s something I want you to do today:

Go through your photos and find one version of yourself you’re proud of.

Mine is 2004.

That young woman dressed all in black, standing in her room.

I’m proud of her.

Not because she had everything figured out. She didn’t.

I’m proud of her because she carried me this far.

Everything she experienced, dreamed about, learned and kept going through helped create the woman I am today.

And she’s not finished yet.

She’s going to help me achieve some pretty amazing things. 🤎

She’s back with her favourites. 🤍

I haven’t been at Bliss for three weeks — one week away, and then two weeks booked off recovering.

So yes… I had to do my own hair at home with my little hair dryer. 😂

And honestly? My nanoplasty stood up to the test.

As someone who was teased about her hair growing up, the past six months as a Bliss ambassador have completely changed how I see hair care.

Professional advice matters.
Using the right products matters.
And learning to actually love and work with your hair matters too.

Today felt like a little reunion seeing Tiffany, Noli and everyone again.

Wash. Trim. Blow-dry. Catch-up. 🤍

And now I’ll let the nanoplasty results speak for themselves.

There was a time when being seen felt heavy.

I worried about judgement.
I overthought my voice.
My body.
My message.
What people would think.
What they would say.

Now?

I show up because I refuse to let fear make my decisions anymore.

I show up for me.
And I show up for the woman who is watching me thinking:

“I wish I could do that.”

BB, you can.

You do not need to become fearless.

You need to become brave enough to stop abandoning yourself every time fear gets loud.

That is the work I do.

I help women become brave in who they are.
Brave in their voice.
Brave in their decisions.
Brave enough to stop shrinking.

Because when you trust yourself enough to stand in who you are…

visibility stops feeling like performing and starts feeling like freedom.

That is Brave & Visible.

Not confidence for one post.

A woman who knows how to show up for herself again and again.

9 DAYS TO MY 40TH BIRTHDAY — BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN ✨

One of the things I realise now is how much fear slowed me down.

I was afraid people wouldn’t like me.

I was afraid of inappropriate messages.
That happened.

I was afraid someone would confront me.
That happened.

I was afraid someone would misunderstand what I said or take it the wrong way.
That happened too.

And yet… my life carried on.

I also went through the COVID reset, moved away for work, started over more than once, and did so many things that scared me.

And I wish I had understood sooner that someone else having an opinion about you does not mean your life stops there.

It took me a long time to fully step into what I’m doing now because I have so many passions, and for years I thought I had to choose one neat little box.

Now I see that as part of the beauty.

I am still figuring things out.

I have big dreams and I have very small, very human dreams too.

Right now, one of my biggest dreams is simply for my body to find its new normal.

My next dream is consistent income — because freelancing, clients and workshop sales can come in waves, and I want more security.

I want more holidays with my family and friends.

I want freedom.

I want meaningful work.

And something else I’ve realised as I get closer to 40:

I don’t want to be known as “the strong woman.”

I just want to be known as a woman.

A woman who can be ambitious and tired.
Brave and uncertain.
Successful and still figuring things out.
Soft and powerful.
Faithful and human.

I want to be known for me.

So today’s birthday wisdom is this:

Do not wait until nobody has an opinion before you start living your life.

That day will never come.

You are allowed to be misunderstood.
You are allowed to change.
You are allowed to have more than one dream.
And you are allowed to want a life that feels safe, joyful and true to you.

Nine days to 40… and I think I’m finally learning that I don’t have to prove how strong I am anymore.

I just get to be me. 🤎

Just remember: I only show you about 10% of what I actually do.

The other 90%? That’s reserved for the select few who work closely with me.

Don’t be fooled by social media. There is strategy behind it. There is a method to the madness. There are tears, lessons, failures, breakthroughs and wins you never see.

What takes me 30 minutes today took me years to learn.

Years of trying.
Years of investing.
Years of getting it wrong.
Years of becoming the woman who can now make it look simple.

And that is exactly why I can help someone else move faster.

But here’s the part people forget:

You still have to choose you.

Choose to invest in yourself.
Choose to stop waiting until you feel ready.
Choose to learn.
Choose to be seen.
Choose to move.

Because no strategy in the world can replace the moment you finally decide:
I’m going to got for it

A year from now I will be different and my life will be different…

Sometimes the kindest thing you can say is:

“Love that for you.” 🤍

No comparison.
No questioning.
No “must be nice.”

Because you have no idea what someone had to survive, sacrifice, heal from, pray through, work through or believe through to finally arrive at that moment.

Comment on those life moments.
Celebrate when your friends achieve the thing.
Cheer when your business besties do the crazy thing they once only talked about.
Share their wins. Clap loudly. Be genuinely excited for them.

Because sometimes you’re watching the moment they once cried, prayed and worked so hard for.

You don’t know how long they waited for it. ✨
