💜 Looking back at the Southern Cape Art Festival... ✨

While the performances on stage were magical, some of our favourite memories were made behind the scenes.

From the excitement in the dressing room, the final touches before going on stage, and the nervous butterflies before the music began, to the laughter, hugs, and smiles after each performance—these are the moments that make the journey so special.

This is where confidence grows, friendships are strengthened, and unforgettable memories are made. Every dancer shares the same excitement, supports one another, and celebrates each achievement together.

These moments remind us that dance is about so much more than the performance itself. They capture the heart of why we do what we do.
💜 For the love of dance.

✨ Here's to the memories made at the Southern Cape Art Festival, and to many more still to come!

🩰What is the best thing ballet teaches you...

Resilience?
Discipline?
Confidence?
How to keep going, even when things don't go perfectly?

Long after the classes and performances are over, these are the lessons that stay with you for life. Ballet doesn't just shape dancers... it shapes people. ✨

Why is ballet so good for baby brains? 🩰🧠

Ballet isn’t just “cute movement” it’s serious brain-building work happening through dance.

When babies and toddlers are introduced to movement-based activities like Ballet, their brains are rapidly forming new neural connections that support learning, coordination, and emotional development.

Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:

✨ Brain + body connection is firing fast
Simple steps like pointing toes, balancing, and turning help strengthen the communication between the brain’s motor and sensory systems.

🎵 Rhythm builds cognitive pathways
Moving to music supports memory, pattern recognition, and early maths skills, the brain LOVES rhythm.

🧠 Boosts coordination & spatial awareness
Learning where the body is in space helps with future skills like writing, reading, and sports.

💛 Emotional regulation starts early
Structured movement with music helps little ones learn calm focus, patience, and confidence.

👶 Language development gets a lift
Following instructions like “arms up” or “freeze” supports listening skills and vocabulary growth.

Ballet in early childhood isn’t about perfection, it’s about wiring the brain for balance, focus, creativity, and confidence.
And the best part? It feels like play. 🩰

✨ At Plett Pointe, every class is more than just a group of dancers — it’s a little family. ✨

We are so proud of these beautiful ballerinas and everything they have achieved. Their awards are a celebration not only of their hard work and dedication, but of their courage to step on stage, support one another, and grow in confidence with every class.

We believe in nurturing each child — building strong technique, yes, but also kindness, resilience, and a true love for dance.

Watching these dancers shine, both on stage and in the studio, is what it’s all about. 💗

✨ Celebrating each and every Ballerina ✨

On Saturday, 18 April, our dancers took part in the American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards, held at Greenwood Bay College.

Each dancer performed their very best, and for some, it was their very first time on stage 🤍

We are incredibly proud of every ballerina — not only for their achievements, but for their courage to step onto the stage, to perform, to learn, and to grow.

At Plett Pointe, we celebrate every milestone and nurture each dancer’s journey and love for dance.
