Pinetown Raiders Rugby Club is a club build on one squad, two sides, a family of players representing the name of Raiders on the field.
Pinetown Raiders Rugby Club, formally known as Pinetown Rugby Club, is situated at the Heart of Lahee Park, in Pinetown. The Club was set up along with many other clubs in the area in the a 1900's. In the late 1800's, in the position where Lahee Park now stands, was once the position of a farm. Mr Lahee, through great generosity, donated his land to the 'Borough of Pinetown' for the use of the Peo
ple, and in this so the introduction of one of the oldest Sporting grounds in Pinetown. Along with Pinetown Cricket Club, the Rugby Club boasts to be one of the oldest in the Country, with Photo's dating back to 1932. The Rugby Club being first introduced in 1926, a total of 87 years ago. Through time the rugby club has seen many players of stature venture through the club, with players like Steve Atherton, Christie Noble and more recently Anton Bresler coming out of the structures at Pinetown Rugby Club. With many trophies being awarded to the club over its reign, including the Murray cup, the Van Akin Cup, The Findley Cup and the Walker Cup. Along with great players, the club has had Management being represented in the NRU Panel, with the most famous being Bob Waterhouse, who represented the Club through the 1980's and also sat as Chairman of the NRU.
