It’s a proper grind getting to the top of the pass, but once you’re there... the descent makes every bit of effort worth it. Big views and that unbeatable feeling of earning your way up. 🌄

If you’re riding a gravel bike, you can skip Rooibaard and still enjoy an incredible route. Keen for a bit more technical riding? Then Rooibaard is best tackled on a MTB.

It’s time for the Montagu Longtable again.

This year, we gather in Kohler Street — a street steeped in history and character. Named after Kohler, founder of the world-renowned KWV, this street still carries the legacy of Montagu’s rich farming and w**e heritage. The old KWV buildings still stand proudly.

Just nearby, The Station marks another chapter in Montagu’s past. It was here that railway buses once arrived and departed, ferrying visitors to and from Ashton’s train station. Many of those travellers came seeking rest and restoration in Montagu’s famous hot mineral springs — part of a journey once beautifully captured in the railway’s slogan: “Montagu – The Road to Wellness.”

The Montagu Longtable is more than just a gathering. It’s a celebration of place, of community. An evening where we sit together, surrounded by the architecture of years gone by, sharing good food, laughter, and connection.
