Huge congratulations to who at the very young age of 24 completed his first Comrades marathon on Sunday 14 June ππΌπ₯³
Preparation for Comrades takes months and months and a lot of commitment and early mornings to get all the training done. Matthew showed that commitment and quietly got on with his training.
It was a tough race but he says he enjoyed it and will be back for his back-to-back in 2027 for the 100th running of the Comrades. Matthew finished in 10 hours and 34 minutes and hopes to improve his time next year on the down run πββοΈ
It takes a community and a great family like to achieve goals like this! Matthew started at 2 years ago doing 10 minutes around the field π This program works, and so many have achieved fantastic goals through dedication and consistency to the program!
A huge shout out to our amazing members who went down to Durban to support along the route
ππΌβ€οΈ Matthew was blessed to see familiar faces from the start in Durban right through to PMB! You are all truly amazing and greatly appreciated π€
Thank you for taking us on this epic journey with you. We celebrate you, we celebrate this achievement with you and we are extremely proud of you π

Congratulations to all of our Progressive Marathon athletes who challenged themselves to 6 consecutive days of running/walking and boy-oh-boy did they show up for themselves and achieve things they didnβt think they could πͺπ»ππΌ
We finished day 6 of the Progressive Marathon with a change of scenery, change of route, and some tough little hills πββοΈπππ½ at the centre on Saturday afternoon.
Not everyone could join us but we still thoroughly enjoyed it and enjoyed each others company π
Thank you to who helped with marshalling, and some of the videos, and who helped with road leading π©·π
Thank you also to the gentleman who happened to have a drone over the centre at the time and took some footage for us π

This is our truly fabulous Sarina π€
A very special lady with a kind, gentle, and loving soul. Sarina has a heart of gold and a wicked sense of humour π
If we ask for help with marshalling or lap counting at race walking events Sarina is the first to put up her hand. She is also very involved at the Noordwyk Parkrun every Saturday.
It has been truly amazing to watch your fitness journey, you inspire so many around you. You push through even when itβs tough, even when the pain is screaming at you to stop!
We are so privileged to have you as part of our RWFL Midrand family, Sarina! You are loved and greatly appreciated for everything you do and everything you bring and add to our club π€β€οΈ
