I've been doing CrossFit since April 2024... although I did lose a bit of time to a torn hamstring and shoulder surgery. 😅 (Not exactly the best sales pitch if you're trying to convince someone to join. 😂)

I've always loved training. It's my coping mechanism. For an hour, I get to put all the noise of everyday life aside and focus on what's right in front of me.

The fact that CrossFit is also a competitive sport gives me an extra reason to show up, work hard, and keep improving. There's always something new to learn, someone to chase, and a goal to work towards.

Oh... and if you're wondering why I sometimes skip?
HYROX. 😂🏃‍♂️

Transformation Thursday: Meet Melandé!

For the past 9 years, Melandé has shown what happens when consistency, discipline, and hard work come together. 💪

When she first started CrossFit, her goal was simple: to become a better version of herself and build a healthier lifestyle. At the time, she was overweight and ready for change, and since then, she’s gone from 93kg ➡️ 78kg while becoming stronger both physically and mentally. ⚡

Her favourite movements?
🏋️‍♀️ Snatches, squat cleans… basically any kind of squat! 😅

But CrossFit has taught her something even bigger than fitness:
👉 Consistency is key.
If you keep showing up and pushing through, you will reach your goals, even if it takes longer than expected.

One of her proudest achievements?
🏆 Competing in the Rebel Renegade Games, even with an injured shoulder. That’s resilience. 👏

Her advice for anyone wanting to start CrossFit:
✨ “Just start and keep showing up, especially on the days you don’t feel like it. One day you’ll look back and feel proud of every single day you pitched up.”

Her next goal?
💥 To fully recover her shoulders, improve on the rig, grow her gymnastics skills, and finally get those Muscle-Ups! 🔥

Today we say goodbye to one of our OG members. Leandi Lutzkie

Leandi, thank you for being part of CrossFit Artaxes from the very beginning. Through every season of life—including two pregnancies and becoming a mom of two beautiful babies—you continued to show up, work hard, and inspire those around you.

Thank you for your loyalty, friendship, and for always believing in CrossFit and our community. You have been part of so many memories, milestones, and moments that helped shape our box into what it is today.

While we're sad to see you move to Ballito, we're excited for this next chapter for you and your family.

Remember, once Artaxes family, always Artaxes family. ❤️
