NODEFA CALLS FOR MASS PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAMME AGAINST SCHOOL VIOLENCE IN KWANOBUHLE

The Nobuhle Despatch Football Association (NODEFA) calls upon all its leaders club chairpersons, coaches, match officials, players, supporters and the entire football family to join the leadership of the Association as it attends a community programme against the recent violence that is taking place across Kwanobuhle schools.

NODEFA will be amongst the stakeholders that refuses to keep quiet and turn a blind eye when the future of our community is being destroyed. We cannot be silent. Some of these boys and girls involved in these incidents might be players in our clubs. They are our children. We need to rescue them before we lose them.

Football has always been a vehicle for discipline, respect and social cohesion. When schools bleed, the football field bleeds too.

We therefore call on all stakeholders, the business sector, government departments, the sports fraternity, SGBs, parents and the community of Kwanobuhle at large — to support this progressive initiative and stand together to build safe schools.

Congratulations to Busiswa Sweetness Onwabe Stokwe, Kilimanjaro our own TLB, who has been officially elected as the National Executive Member of the South African Football Association (SAFA). She was elected yesterday 12 September 2026, in the SAFA National Elective Congress.

We are truly proud of you for representing us well. NODEFA in you has made history and we hope your victory will motivate other leaders, players, coaches, clubs and match officials to up their socks and display high level of discipline and sportsmanship.

NODEFA CELEBRATES VICE PRESIDENT MRS BUSISWA SWEETNESS STOKWE aka KILIMANJARO AS YOUNGEST WOMAN NOMINEE FOR SAFA NEC

The Nobuhle Despatch Football Association (NODEFA) is filled with immense pride and joy to congratulate its Vice President, Mrs Busiswa Sweetness Stokwe, affectionately known as “Kilimanjaro",on being nominated as the youngest woman nominee for the SAFA National Executive Committee (NEC) at the upcoming SAFA National Congress on 12 September 2026.

This historic nomination is a monumental achievement for NODEFA as a Local Football Association. To produce the youngest woman to be nominated nationally for the highest decision-making structure of South African football is not only an honour for NODEFA, but a powerful statement about women leadership in football.

Mrs Stokwe, or Kilimanjaro as she is fondly known for her towering leadership and unshakable strength, has been a pillar of football development in Nobuhle, Despatch, Uitenhage and the greater Nelson Mandela Bay Region. Her commitment to grassroots football, women’s football and youth empowerment has earned her national recognition and respect.

This nomination is a proudest moment not only for Uitenhage, but for the Nelson Mandela Bay Region and the Eastern Cape Province at large. It proves that when you invest in young women leaders, the whole province rises, just like Kilimanjaro.

NODEFA wishes its Vice President every success at the SAFA National Congress. We have full confidence that she will represent not just NODEFA, but all young women in football with distinction.

The mountain has spoken, Kilimanjaro is rising to the National Stage!

NODEFA OBSERVES MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR LATE PRESIDENT MBATHA AND TORONTO BLIZZARDS FC PLAYER NTLONIPHO MGE

During the official NODEFA Cup Draw held last night (08 September 2026), NODEFA Members, club delegates, rand the Executive Committee observed a solemn moment of silence in honour of the late President Lulama Mbatha and Ntlonipho Mge, a player of Toronto Blizzards FC.

The brief but dignified moment was led by the NODEFA Presidency as a mark of respect, unity and solidarity with the bereaved families, Toronto Blizzards FC, and the broader football fraternity.

NODEFA Executive extend deepest condolences to the families of President Lulama Mbatha and Ntlonipho Mge, their teammates, and all who knew them.

May their souls rest in peace.

Sovereign Food hosted their annual successful tournament where their workers were participating as part of wellness.

This initiative is very important and we would like to see more of companies and organisations coming together and partner with us. We believe this will motivate workers in taking part in sport activities, we also believe that it improves and strengthen relations between employees and employers.

Our Vice President Thulani Tshaka joined the management of Sovereign Foods in their presentation as they were awarding the 2026 winners of this year.

We would like to also appreciate our match officials who officiated in the tournament, with discipline and dignity.
