With natural dams to attract wild animals and birds, riding and running in the bushveld has never been more fun. The terrain covered is a mix of gravel road, single track and jeep track, and there’s a race for everyone—10km and 20km for those new to riding and 40km and 65km for the more experienced in the pack. The runners can challenge themselves to a great 10km trail run or a 5km fun run.

Gravel Rush is an ultra-endurance gravel race not to be missed. There are two routes—Lion (280 km) and Tiger (160 km)—as well as Lite options (86km and 30km). For those who thrive on long days in the saddle and relentless gravel grinding, the Lion route is for you. The Tiger route offers the same scenery but with a slightly faster finish.

Choose from the 76km, 44km or 21km routes, or take on the 5km walk. No rocky trails, no tricky terrain – just you, the road, and pure cycling joy. This exciting road cycling race starts and ends at the Ditsong Willem Prinsloo Agricultural Museum. There are two distances to choose from: 91km and 65km. There will be food stalls and a beer tent, so bring your family and enjoy a great day out.

This is a seeding event for the Ride Joburg 947 and is part of the Mzanzi National Road Series and Gauteng Road Championships, so gear up and get going.

IQEMBU CYCLE CHALLENGE | 6 SEPTEMBER 2026

The Iqembu Cycle Challenge is where teams come to test their limits on Durban’s iconic M4. Set on a fast, flat 20km out-and-back route, this is all about riding as one, holding the line and chasing serious speed. Starting and finishing opposite Moses Mabhida Stadium, expect high intensity racing, tight formations and an electric race day atmosphere.

This is not an individual event, it is a true team time trial where every second counts and every rider matters. Choose your team challenge with 100km (5 to 8 riders), 60km (4 to 6 riders) or 40km (2 to 4 riders). Open to corporates, clubs, pro teams, friends and families, this is your chance to build your squad and take on the course together.
