ANFASA would like to express its condolences to the family, friends and the Abdullah Ibrahim ensemble. He will be remembered for his famous instrumental jazzy lyric which reverberated throughout his country, South Africa. A home he so cherished that he was indebted to that he left her with a broken heart. His discipline particularly when recording or playing in public could be felt when he stopped playing to let the noise subside for the audience to listen to his music. A gentleman and an artisan of unparalleled creativity. He was respected and looked upon as the guru of global jazz.
