Today we lost a truly extraordinary teacher, mentor and human being.
It is difficult to put into words how much Gudrun von Wimmersperg meant to the Iyengar community. She personally influenced and impacted my life in ways I’m not sure she ever fully knew.
For so many years, Gudrun’s Friday classes were my sanctuary. No matter what was happening in life or in the world outside, I knew that I could arrive in that space and simply be. She created something incredibly special — a space where everyone was welcomed, everyone was seen and nobody was judged.
She didn’t simply teach Iyengar Yoga. She lived it. From the inside to the outside. It was present in the way she taught, the way she treated people, the way she listened, and the way she moved through the world.
I feel incredibly privileged to have been her student and to have had her as a teacher.
Gudrun has left an enormous void in our community and in the lives of so many people who loved and learned from her. But what she gave us will remain.
May you be at peace, dear Gudrun. Thank you for everything you taught us — both on and off the mat. 🤍

The rain doesn’t stop for yoga, and neither do we. A wet week ahead, but there’s always a little time to step inside, slow down and get onto your mat🧘🧘

What is Iyengar Yoga?

A practice centred on precision, inclusion, alignment and awareness. With the support of props, it can be adapted to different bodies and abilities while building strength, stability and confidence.

That’s just a few reasons why we love Iyengar yoga 🧘✨ Book your mat via Octiv or the Discovery app.
