After 2 years of study, practice, teaching, growth and countless hours on the mat, I am so grateful to officially be a Level 2 Iyengar Yoga Teacher.
This journey has reminded me that yoga is never a solo endeavour. It is built on the guidance of teachers, the support of friends, the encouragement of community, and the willingness to keep learning.
A huge thank you to my teacher, mentor and dearest friend, Carla Rech, for guiding me to this point on every single level.
Thank you also to Dize Watson for her guidance and generosity along this journey. Thanks as well to Yvonne, Rhonwen, Paula, Carla and the assessment committee for their endless hours of work and dedication that have helped all of us reach this point.
And what a privilege it has been to share this journey with Allison Van Veijerenx and Lizzy Ntuli. We have been a wonderful team, supporting, encouraging and learning alongside one another.
To Brendi and my beautiful Yoga Lova community — thank you for standing by my side over these past few weeks, listening to endless discussions about finals, assessment sequences and yoga philosophy!
Feeling deeply grateful today to be part of the Iyengar Yoga community. This is not an end point, but the continuation of a lifelong journey of learning.

Iyengar’s closest assistants for many decades, accompanying him on numerous national and international teaching tours. Since 1999, Birjoo has taught workshops and conventions throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia, and continues to share the depth of Guruji’s teachings with students around the world.
