The moments that make it all worth it. 🤍

From proud parents on the sidelines to nervous first hugs before stepping on the mats — the Sunninghill No Gi Open was full of them this past weekend. Our biggest event yet brought teams from as far as Sasolburg, and an incredible number of first-time Baby Champs (ages 3-7) taking their very first steps in competition.
We managed to capture some beautiful moments on camera. Full edited photo galleries are now available via the Tribe Martial Arts Foundation website for a R100 donation; take a piece of the day home with you.

🥋 WHAT MAKES BJJ DIFFERENT?

School sports can teach kids a huge amount.

But BJJ adds another layer: they have to think while they move.

In this clip from Raising Champions, Coach Guy asks Amie Stewart what makes BJJ different from regular school sports.

Her answer: problem-solving, listening and adapting; all happening at the same time.

It's not just about learning a technique.

It's about learning how to figure things out.
