We’ve been quiet…..a little busy prepping and then camping at the first CampSo camp at Kudu Bush Camp in Dinokeng.
The venue is lovely, quiet and secluded. Only 8 stands each that slept 5 guests each with their private ablution. It’s end of winter so greenery is sparse. The pool was lovely. The youngsters and a more mature adult utilised it. The rest of us were most likely being hooligans, or just not ready for that cold water experience!! The youngsters enjoyed the slides (adding all of mom’s dish liquid to give that much needed speed). I’d say the youngsters were the only ones on the trampoline, but that’s not accurate. The young at heart adults gave it a try as well. Everyone had a great time, some gathered around the communal camp fire in the evenings whilst others socialised amongst their groups of whom they knew. Day activities included, some having a picnic in the reserve (at an allocated spot) others stopping in at local pubs whilst others did a self drive game drive. Again everyone doing what best suited them. Saturday was rugby day! Although tempting to go to a local pub the desire to be in the bush won. Thank you to the campers that pre planned. They set up two computers and streamed the game. The die hards sat through the entire match whilst many others mingled, prepped for the evening Braai, possibly caught a quick snooze or just did their own thing. Claus and Rita are stunning hosts. Rita baking Koeksisters to keep everyone’s sweet tooth happy whilst Claus stopped by the stands regularly to confirm all was good and on Sunday he helped weld one of the camper’s trailer as they’d had a slight oopsie on the way in. Various game visited the watering hole including a family of warthogs. They certainly kept us entertained for awhile whilst they enjoyed some fresh fruit that was sacrificed for them. I think it was the same mother that sacrificed her dish liquid. Not sure how much say she had in both matters lol. In the night the sounds of the wild game could be heard. On our way out of the reserve we came across a fresh cheetah kill. Mom and her cubs were looking very comfortable as we drove past. Thank you to the hosts for a lovely venue to host the first CampSo networking weekend.
Next one happening 9-11th October at Bosveld Oase in Brit’s. Although officially we have sold all the stands that were pre held, we can still book the next block if needed.

Two more sleeps and we’re off for the very first CampSo networking camping weekend. Looking forward to meeting new campers! Watch this space for pictures …. Although it may be what happens at Kudu stays at Kudu 😂

Here’s to many campfire stories and laughs.. we may have to implement the rule ‘what happens around Campso fires, stays around those same fires’ time will tell ! Watch this space for feedback.
