Heritage Day was never going to be just another day on the calendar. Across different cities, roads and race routes, Team Adventist Athletics Club was out there moving, serving, connecting and making its presence felt. But somewhere along the long road from Memel to Newcastle in KZN one athlete had a different story to tell. Sakhile Nkosi delivered yet another remarkable performance at the Evotel Memel to Newcastle 52KM Ultra Run/Walk, digging deep to claim an impressive 2nd-place podium finish! Well done Sakhile. Team Adventist Athletics Club Gauteng took on the ABSA Run Your City Joburg, but the mission went beyond the finish line as members ran, connected with fellow runners and distributed literature turning race day into an opportunity for outreach. KZN Adventist Athletics Club , joined by members from Adventist Athletics Club-BORDER and Eastern Province, showed up at the Ntenga Foundation Race in Durban, once again demonstrating that AAC is not confined to one city, one province or one route. And in the Western Cape, Adventist Athletics Club WP took to the trails at The Gratitude Run 2026 in Stellenbosch, adding yet another chapter to a Heritage Day marked by movement, fellowship and purpose. WEEKEND RACING ROUNDUP TEAM Adventist Athletics Club SHOWED UP!
Rain, distance and tough conditions couldn’t keep away team AAC from the start line! Across our most of our regions, our athletes continued to run, walk, hike, train and inspire. Despite the rain, Team Adventist Athletics Club - Mthatha showed up and delivered at the at the Elliott Madeira Charity Race.! A special congratulations to Bheki Kolweni for a fantastic 1st place finish in the 60+ category (Half Marathon) and Biyiswa Dyantyi for finishing 1st in the 50+ (Marathon) . Team Adventist Athletics Club Gauteng ran the Balwin Run Series Jeppe Marathon. Well done to MB on an outstanding Personal Best (PB) over the marathon distance, while also securing 5th place in the 40+ category! Team Adventist Athletics Club Bulawayo was out in force, representing AAC and keeping the movement going at the Masiyephambili Junior School Half Marathon. Team Harare Adventist Athletics Club - Zimbabwe also answered the call, proudly taking AAC to the ZB Marathon. Team Adventist Athletics Club WP tackled the scenic Chapman’s Half Marathon, putting in the miles and representing the club with pride. From Mthatha to Gauteng, Bulawayo, Harare and Cape Town — different starting lines, one AAC family!

Weekend Racing Roundup!
It was another action-packed weekend for the running community, with Runners’ Sabbath Services held in KuGompo and Gaborone, bringing runners together in fellowship beyond the finish line. From Gaborone to KuGompo, Bulawayo and the Western Cape, athletes took to the roads, representing their cities. Literature was distributed in Gaberone. Meanwhile, training continued and continues in Lesotho, with just one week to go until the “Run Ur City Race” in Maseru host by Adventist Athletics Club lesotho . In Gauteng, the race had to be postponed due to lightning and severe weather conditions a timely reminder that safety always comes first.
