As we celebrate the 20 men selected today to represent South Africa at the FIH Hockey World Cup, we also honour every Men’s World Cup squad that came before them — the players who wore the badge with pride, represented our nation on the world stage and paved the way for the next generation.

Today, we celebrate not only the team heading to the World Cup, but the proud legacy they carry with them.

South African Hockey wishes to thank all involved in making the SA Men vs. Malaysia series a massive success. From Riverside Sport for hosting, Malaysia for coming out, Supersport for broadcasting, our technical officials, our photographers and of course the hockey public that came out in force to back the team!

It was great having International hockey back in Kwazulu Natal.

A Kenton Melville hat-trick inspired the South African Men to a 5-2 victory in the final test against Malaysia at Riverside Hockey Club.

South Africa secure a test series victory over Malaysia after the fourth test finished 3-3 at Riverside Sports Club on Friday Night. SA lead the series 2-0 ahead of Sunday's final game of the series.
